If you've just recently started trying to get a proper style/fashion sense, don't cop anything yet. Just lurk /fa/ and see what other people post and observe cool fits other guys wear in public (really take note of how the pants fit, what kind of shoes, jacket, how well the colors go you don't even have to know anything about colors to see if something is messed up).
Facial hair and haircut is fine as is I'd say, definitely have potential to step up and pass fuccboi-tier, no homo.

To all the black guys in this thread, don't get caught up in what everyone says about our hair. It's so sad, but I spent most of my life totally jealous that I couldn't ever find a way to style my hair and thinking that I had no chance, but then I realized that the reason things didn't work for me was simply a matter of playing it safe.

I went out to cali got a haircut on a whim. I looked like fucking bruno mars the first day (no joke, people stopped me and told me I did) but then I started using product, random things at first and after a few months started putting product in it that's actually designed for my hairtype.

Now I use shea moisture coconut curl smoothie followed by an olive oil based gel (max hold). It puts my hair into large silky locks and I can style it in a large variety of ways if I just vary the amount of product I use. The best part is that my hair isn't greasy, sticky or tacky at all so grills can actually touch it.

I've never been so happy with my hair.

There are options out there bros, you just have to take a chance.

My hair is a bit longer than that and this is how I do it. After I wash, I put in leave in conditioner (cantu brand) and put it in a braided style. This can be a side braid, or a braided ponytail, or two braids. Leave it like this to dry. Then the next day I undo the braids and wear a ponytail style. The curls are really nice and moisturized and shiny because they dried in the braid. Third day I wear my hair in a bun or updo, then wash. If you have a tumblr I can show you pics or drawings of some more elaborate styles I do but this is the basic routine for me.

I got a question for you black folk pertaining to dreadlocks and hair.

are you able to wash your hair with anything other than shampoo? I heard from my Ethiopian buddy when we went to the beach that he couldn't use my shampoo cus it fucked his hair up.

How do you do dreads? Do you just not wash it so it locks up? Does that make it greasy or anything?

I always felt like white people with dreads had the greasiest fucking hair ever, and they said they didn't really wash it ever. Is it the same with black people?

Also, does your hair just naturally grow into a poofy afro-ish shape? Or does that require work to get it to that stage ? I see pics of African women (like tribal n shit) and their hair is always poofy like an Afro, but none of the black women I know in the US has that style of hair.

I wash my hair with more than water, ethiopian women I know have hair textures pretty similar to mine, so your buddy might just be going to "no poo" route. This is recently becoming popular with people of all races, all kinds of hair.

I guess hair naturally grows poofy afro shape? You also have to pick it to undo the curls and make it fluffier. A lot of black women in the US have done things like getting perms when they're younger, which damages the hair. If you look up black women with "natural hair", you'll see what it's like if you don't perm it.

Hair has to be clean to lock. I just use Dr.bronner's magic soap or a natural clarifying shampoo (like kinky-curly come clean)
