re: men in skirts

like with anything, the right piece on the right person in the right combination can look great.

rick, yohji, and siki are 3 designers that come to mind when thinking of designers who have styled skirts on men very well.

i think pleats make the skirt alot harder to rock as it makes it look alot more feminine, skirts as "panels" or "layers" or extended silhouettes look cooler imo

i also find that people with either very androgynous features or very "masculine" facial features can make it look good easier, if you are somewhere in between it can look more awkward, great example of this is heirloom and christian (think i remember seeing a skirt fit from him)

some collections that come to mind are rick ss12 yohji ss12 and aw13*, siki ss13

i think below knee length would be better, the short length gives off schoolgirl / kilt costumey vibes

shirt kinda just "sits" on top and doesn't really compliment skirt, vice versa

fits are best built from the bottom up imo, and the section of exposed leg throws it off a bit, longer length would create more "grounded" silhouette
