Not a fan of 24hr dials or Day/Night indicators because they are rather pointless.

I see that you were searching for moonphase. Moonphase shows the various phases of the moon as its 28-day cycle passes. But many manufacturers produce lower-budget movements with the Day/Night complication which is much simpler to manufacture and often mistaken for moonphase by the consumer. Combining the 24hr dial and the Day/Night indicator is doubly redundant.

Judging by the complications and the picture of the back of the watch, it contains this movement:

They're alright. They're about the cheapest manual chronograph you're gonna get.

There's two different versions by the way, both have the same movement but the newer one doesn't have a domed crystal and is slightly bigger. Just make sure you choose the one you want if you're buying one.

Pic related is one of the new ones with the panda dial.

Complete newfag when it comes to watches; what's a domed crystal? Also, is there anywhere I can learn about watch movements? What, for example, distinguishes a Vostok Amphibia and a Seagull 1963?

Whatever band you like, as long as it's 20mm. Just look around to find what you like.

>>8294943
By domed crystal I mean the glass/plastic that covers the face is this kind of shape. Crystal is just the name for that piece no matter what it's made from.

Not really sure where you can learn about watch movements apart from just finding out the name of the movement you're interested in and looking it up. Generally the differences are accuracy, jewels, complications (like the chronograph on the sea-gull or things like the date) and other things like power reserve.

You might find these helpful;

http://wornandwound.com/2013/06/12/seagull-1963-42mm-panda-dial-review/

http://wornandwound.com/2011/08/25/a-look-at-the-seagull-1963/

But basically there's the 38mm and the 42mm version. I was also wrong about the 42 not having a domed crystal, turns out it does. Sorry for rambling, hope I helped.

The name is usually pretty easy to find. On that first link it says "Movement: Seagull ST19". From there you can just look that up. Watchuseek is sometimes good for finding out info, a lot of people there do insane amounts of research into a specific watch for a review.

Not sure how to use the search function but you can just type something like this into google;

Seagull ST19 site:watchuseek.com

Also I forgot to mention, one big difference between those Vostoks and that Sea-Gull is that the Vostok is an automatic (winds itself as long as you wear it) and the Sea-Gull is a manual (you wind it by twisting the crown or it stops). But you probably already know the differences.
