I can be and definitely used to be the same way. Alcohol helps for sure, and also being confident and funny can change everything.
Remember, girls aren't as "strong and independent" as they want to make everyone believe. If you talk to them as though you are above them, they will usually end up trying to work towards your "approval"

What I mean by that is talking to them like it is interesting to YOU - not like you are looking for her approval.

It's pretty important, but if you don't have it it won't kill you. It depends on the method you use to get girls.

For example, having a ton of friends and being "the man" will lead to having tons of girls around you. It's "social proof" but you can find other ways to communicate social proof, or simply meet girls when you are in the right element.

That is not a disrespect to her, because it's simply how females are in general. I have a sister too, and she's very smart. We talk about all kinds of things, and she can break things down like I can, and even though we have disagreements we can still see the validity in each others opinions.

However, she has no problems playing her "girl card' now and then. When I mention that I get that ever popular key word: what she did was "different." Girls are always different, they are always special, and even when a girl says "I'm not like all the other girls who think they're special butterflies," guess what, she still wants to be acknowledged that she's different and special.

I'm not hating on girls for wanting to be special, because that is a deep element in femininity, but it's also a major key to understanding their rationale.

You're right, a relationship takes balance, but a girl will always believe she is entitled to more than she has. Yes girls are submissive by nature and want a guy to tell her what to do, but at the same time she is going to constantly test and question his worth.

And when she's ready to go, she's gone without question. She may plan and plot for a year before making her move, keeping you in the dark and feeding you enough to keep you non suspecting, but when things line up, good bye.

Girls consider a guys feelings, but only in relation to how it will affect her well being.

I don't believe that is the case for men.

It isn't fair to expect women to be as moral/prideful/honourable as men, as they're very much male concepts. No, females have very different core concepts, very feminine core concepts. You're misunderstanding my fundamental message. I have lots of good relationships with girls constantly, but of course in order to reach that level I had to deal with bad relationships first.

I know what a good relationship is and I know what a bad one is, just like you. I know what lack of communication looks like compared to poor communication.

My overall point isn't that you should never trust girls, or that they are fundamentally evil. The point is that not all girls are the same, until they are, which is always. I'm not saying your GF is a cunt, or a lying, cheating bitch, but she is a girl and if you shouldn't forget that. She is NOT special, she just seems that way to you. The time you've invested, and the equity you feel you have isn't worth anything when your relationship ends. My point is that you shouldn't be too comfortable under the false belief that she would never do you like those other girls did.

I remember the first time I broke up with a serious, long term girlfriend. She cried and begged me stay because "we can work it out. I need you in my life" and I'm not proud to admit, but I ended up getting back with her. I'm also not proud to admit that when she broke up with me and I kept trying to convince her to stay she could never be convinced otherwise.
