If all goes well I may consider selling them, but I'm not sure if there's really a market for hand-made, custom tailored clothes anymore.

i don't like any of the bands on here besides swans. and i've always hated that stupid defend pop punk shit. this vest is pretty damn mediocre tbqh, there's nothing going on it's boring and very underwhelming. try a broader selection of genres, don't sew using a sewing machine: sew by hand. put some sort of stud, or pattern, or space filler. get more interesting graphic patches to spread the focus point so it's not just on the back. and try to stick to a set color scheme until you're more experienced.

old giant robot/mindfuckery anime.

it's good but it's also "babby's first mindfuck" so it gets a lot of shit as you could probably guess.

I'd reccomend watching it before you go wearing it around. If the old series is too dated for you to get through they've rebooted the series into 4 movies, three are out sofar. next is out in 2015.

Id reccomend the show tho. the movies are nice but it's cooler after you watch the show.

Does anyone have any leather dyeing experience? I have a pair of Bape 08 foot soldiers in an awful colourway that I want to dye solid black. The issue being that they're glossy patent leather - making them hardly leather at all.

what I'm thinking is that I give them a run down with sandpaper, being very attentive to the amount of wear, and then apply dye, hoping the laminate layer is worn away enough to hold dye. I'd like advice, but I'm probably going to try it anyways unless someone comes up with a much better idea or has some good insight.

Thanks!

Fold shirt like an accordion vertically, then roll up from one side so that you have a circle. Rubber band it so that it stays a circle then dip each side in a bit of bleach.

I think I left it in the bleach to long and did to much to it. Would try again but barely leave in bleach for like a couple seconds. This can also be done with a different result if you fold it horizontally first.

Apparently I have a girl ass so trousers always fit awkwardly, but other than that I'm not interested in DIYing anything.

Alright, so I did not know the bad sides of repainting shoes with acrylic paint. Now, how do I get rid of all the acrylic quickly? Can I put some magical mixture with water and just throw them in there? What do I do?

I just wanna get rid of the acrylic and bleach them, then go from there.

You need a good solvent. I'm know that Tamiya-brand acrylic model paints are often thinned with isopryl alcohol. You may want to try that. I'm not sure what effect the alcohol would have on the sole so you might want to be careful around that.

Day late, but I didn't realize this thread was still up, so I apologize.
Most of the patterns I have come from books in my local library. There's a catalog of 17th-18th century dresses that I've been looking at, mostly. But they do stock more contemporary patterns, as well.
Pic related is similar to what I have planned. I just pulled an 18th century pattern off of google images-- also a decent way to find random patterns if you're just experimenting.

You shouldn't need to use a plotter if:
-you're just starting out/experimenting
-your prints already have adequate information to complete the project

Pic related is a page in my collection. It's just an example of what your pages should look like. Often, if it's a common pattern, or if it's been through previous owners, it will be easier to do or include more in-depth/easier-to-understand instructions.
I have pre-owned pattern sheets that have notes on them from their previous owners, and I find those to be the most helpful, as they often include materials they used, corrections, alternate sizing, etc.

>> No.8235432

maybe i should make doll-sized clothes to experiment and print them on regular size paper sheets

>> No.8235441

>>8235432
Smart idea. I would also suggest making them out of cheap materials, as well. Thrift store, cheap off-shelf linens, etc.
Just make sure that when you scale it down not to make your projects too small. It can be hard to piece together and you may have to tailor the construction a bit to the point where it would no longer be an accurate representation of the actual, to-scale model.

Paint em instead! Bleaching is tricky, will get a diff result on the two patches, and will smell like bleach even after washing. Painting them with several coats of white acrylic will look cool, esp. when they crack.

What if I just dunk them in bleach? Wouldn't that get a uniform color?
