you'd probly look good with buzz hair but i think you should go for this since you already got a natural middle part and you look good looking enough to pull it off

This, you're pulling it off but the difference if you got a buzz might be as big a jump as 90s JT to modern day JT

I'm mid twenties but I look incredibly young for some reason. I feel really insecure about my looks but I want to start branching out into a different style because I feel like I'm starting to look dull. Figured hair would be a good way to start that process. Any recommendations?

>that shitstain hair style with a cut in the middle
>bangs form left and right
>can't ever just comb it back up or make the hair stand

How the fuck do you fix that problem?

Do you just cut the top short and buzz the sides or something?

My dream of having a pompadour is forever ruined because of shit hair genetics.

I going to get a haircut soon and am seriously considering a pompadour.
So, I'm trying it out on myself before I commit.
I can't get it to style at all. Am I doing something wrong or it just my hair that won't work?

>>8173536

uh, do you have enough hair on top to pull it off? If thats you in the picture it's looking kinda thin.

(seriously, you may have to see a derma. Your hairline is looking hella far back too)

Probably not. That's what I was worried about.
Guess I can always give up on my dream and go back to my usual cut.

It's not entirely hopeless. If you're unsure about your hairline, raise your brows as high as you can and measure the distance between your hairline and the topmost wrinkle in your forehead.

If the space between is more than a few millimeters, your hairline is receding.

Aside from that, you can use product to make your hair look fuller. Just make sure no one touches said hair.

Just tried that. It's about 1.5cm, so that's no good.

Any recommendations on these products?

Products are all different, ya gotta try them all out to get a feel for them and your hair type.

P sure you tried using gel when you attempted the pompadour? Gels, more often than not, are too hardening for the pomp look. You need a lighter, more malleable product.

You can also learn the basics of styling via youtube videos, you can achieve a lot of volume using the right pomades or pastes and a blowdryer.

And if you're still young, minoxil and finasteride MAY still be able to save your hair (granted you don't mind being bald later in life). You just gotta get a dermatologist's opinion/prescription.

I was using a pomade that picture. American Crew, specifically. Stylist said it would be good to start with since it was cheap and in a small container so I don't spend too much on something I'm unsure of.

I'll talk with my barber when I go get cut tomorrow. Get an in-person opinion and see if anything can be done.

Ah kk, try experimenting with the amounts you use.

Good luck with the barber.
