idk about the quality of the 2 but i like the common projects more b/c not stitching. plus no super shine gives more of a casual vibe. but both are quite nice

And I'd gone for second.
Cause actually I like shiny shoes (at least if you can maintain them so they are shiny with fingerpolish) and most of people hate Martens for its yellow stitching, while red IMO looks very cool.
Once again, common projects are fail-safe option, but I really don't like the way leather looks, kinda cheapish (of course it is not). But if you want something extraordinary, go for Raf.

Interesting story: My brother own's CP derbies( not the one in the pic) and brought them to a shoemaker to get them repaired ( seam at the top has torn apart). The guy told him that the overall quality of the shoe (and leather) is cheap and merely 100€ worth.

Dunno, I really love those though and I would buy them If I had the money. I own a pair of white cps lows ( 5 years old) and they are still in great shape ( no holes, seam torn apart). Just keep in mind that the quality isn't that great.

for around the same price as common projects derbies you could probably get something from Church's that will be much higher quality. check mrporter and see if you can't find anything

CPs will be much more formal while raf x docs can work for formal and casual

both are good shoes

Thoughts about the COS version?

Thinking of copping some for work shoes. Can't rationalise paying CP prices for work.

They're fine, but I'm guessing the soles/stitching will be gone in six months, and you've flushed £120 and will have to buy a new pair. Could be wrong, but COS in general is in an awkward middle ground in that it's not cheap enough for it's quality and not quality enough for it's price.

I tried them on in a COS, they seem just ok for the price. I probably would have copped them but they didn't have a UK7 (sold out on their website too). They look better in person than on that pic.

Can you wear these shoes with shorts and no socks? Is that /fa/? Maybe in a different colour like brown or oxblood?
