Kinda a specific question, but I figure if any board would be capable of answering it, it'd be y'all /fa/gettes.

Started wearing Wrangler jeans, specifically the 13MWZ 'Cowboy Cut' jeans because I enjoy the higher waist and straight fit - not to mention they're <$25/pair.

But I've begun noticing that they're priced accordingly, as they're made out of rather lightweight denim.

While I don't mind shelling out $25 for a new pair every half year or so, it irks my quality conscious side.

I've bought a pair of their performance denim 'cowboy cut' jeans, but they're substantially different than the 13MWZ cowboy cuts - lower waist, lower rear pockets, etc.. Basically everything that makes me love the 13MWZ is absent.

I have yet to get a pair of their 'George Strait' cowboy cut jeans, though. They're similarly priced to the performance denim (I think about $35-$40 on amazon), but they're made with even heavier denim.

Can anyone comment on the fit of the George Strait line of Wrangler jeans when compared to the original 13MWZs?

I can't quite discern it from stock photos, but the waist looks suspiciously lower, which is my largest complaint.

They're comparable to Levi 501s in that they're fairly straight - there's no flaring to the legs. They've got a higher waist to them. There's slim cut version, but the original cut is plenty close-cropped in most regards.

The Cowboy Cut is the same as Levi's 501s in the sense that they're the original flagship jeans.

I'm genuinely afraid.

Don't get me wrong, I'll wear 14.5oz jeans all throughout the Houston summer. But sweet Jesus, Mary and Joseph - 32oz?

Yeah, I knew it'd be a longshot.

Might as well ask /k/ since the largest concentration of Texans (including myself) are on there and we're some of the most likely people to wear Wranglers.
