ITT: post your body and your body goals

>What's your body goal and how long will it take you to get there?

Mine is pic related but a bit skinnier, I reckon I just need to workout for 4 months and then cut for 2.

That body is pretty easy to get.
No leg work. Get high daily intake of protein, and bulk for 3 months.
Work out 4-6 times a week depending on your daily schedule and stress levels.
Then after you can see you'v reached your goal, get rid of your fat layer, while continuing to work out.
Do HIIT cardio and eat a little under your daily calorie burn.
You should be ripped after cutting for 8-10 weeks.

its not always as straight forward as 'work out for X amount of time, & do X amount of things til goal', especially if you actually dedicate yourself to working out, because things pop up like
>"Damn Ive worked out this hard already, I should probably go the extra mile and get a bit bigger, I deserve more for the amount of effort ive put in"
>"THAT was my goal body? Time to make X my new goal"
Not to mention that even if you do get your goal body & youre satisfied, you gotta maintain it through continuous exercise, or you might not even ever get the goal body you want because you might have piss poor genetics, for example:
>wide hips
>chest gap
>fucked up abs
>gyno

My original goal body when I started working out was pic related, & I obtained it in less than a year. Ive been working out for 2.5 years now.

>> No.8060530

>>8060508
I'm doing that already but there's two things I'm unsure about:

How much mass will I lose when I cut for 8-10 weeks like you said?

Proportionwise, should I focus on a particular thing more? like the guy in the picture doesn't have big lats so I don't work much on lats.

Cheers

this may be a dumb question, but when you cut to get that body

do you basically have to maintain the cutting diet to keep the body

>> No.8060545

>>8060533
no, you eat exactly the amount of calories your body needs to maintain the body, not gaining or losing any weight

ofc you'd have to keep eating proteins but not as much unless you want to keep making gains(albeit very slowly)

>> No.8060550

>>8060533
OP here, no, you just eat at maintenance. I've heard about getting down to 12% bf and cutting to 8% for 8 weeks, then bulking to 12% again for 8 weeks and repeating that all year round. I guess that's a good way to maintain your body but I don't know how reliable that is

I'm skinnyfat, 72 kg at 192 cm, what do I do? Eat like a hog, and workout at the same time? I am so fucking shy to go to gym this is not funny. Because when I imagine people seeing me lifting heavy (jk) weights with my spaghetti arms they will laugh! What do guys? Also what kind of exercise do I do? I have meat and muscles on my legs, tummy has some fat, but not too much, I look super skinny in clothes, hands are pretty much auschwitz, esp. waists, looks p ridiculous with my huge ass fists. Also always thought I have wide hips, turns out they are normal, and it's my upper body too small making them look like it. Anyhow, give me program I will follow.

OP here, Most important thing for skinnyfat people is to get the proportions right. Skinnyfat people normally have wider hips (with excess fat) and a narrow torso due to a small ribcage. Focus on getting a top heavy frame by really focusing on your lats and shoulders, forget about abs for a while and focus on chest. The trick is to get wider on the top of your torso to even out the hips.

If you're shy about going to the gym, get comfortable with bodyweight exercises and buy some light adjustable dumbbells, do mainly Pullups, push ups, lateral raises and Dumbbell presses. Once you're comfortable with the highest weight on your dumbbells it's cheaper to get a gym membership, plus people won't laugh at you.

I have pretty good body genetics (broad shoulders and back, small waist, normal hips) but when I was on a swim team I was too lazy to do anything outside of practice and stayed skinnyfat. If I pick up swimming and do it for an hour and a half 4-5 times a week, what kind of exercises should I supplement it with (besides calisthenic routines, high and low impact, for arms and core) for dat ottermode? 5'11'' 128lbs currently, still need to bulk up a bit

Theres no real way to supplement a sport like swimming to attain goals in something like hypertrophy. If you want the best results for your image, youd have to focus on working out as a completely different activity on its own, because using it to supplement swimming is only good for the performance aspect (which would be very high rep work), not muscular hypertrophy (which requires a medium amount of repetition work, focusing more on tearing muscle fibers apart). Id recommend a 3, 4, or 5 day split as a lifting routine to get to ottermode. Youd have to research yourself if youre serious about working out.

>> No.8060695

>>8060533

That depends on your metabolism. If you burn calories fast (I do) by yourself, you don't need to continue it.
However, if you after a short while start seeing yourself getting lumpy or start gaining weight, you should probably hit the cardio again and consider eating more healthily.

>>8060530
To answer your first question: A lot of people complain about losing a shit ton of musclemass when they cut. It isn't AS bad as people make it out to be, but you do lose some of the mass, since, eg. your biceps look bigger the more fat you have on you.
But you should be able to gauge, with the fat on you, how ripped you will be once youre done.

Second question:
Your focus should be, like anybody else, to do as many compound exercises as possible. Everything works, Deadlifts, Chinups, Dips, Squats, Bench presses etc.
If you notice any part of you getting bigger than you'd like, you simply stop training that part of you.
The dude in the picture basically has very little leg work done, and his back andd traps also seem really undefined. So it's pretty easy to tell, that that dude hasn't been squatting, deadlifting, chin-upping or shrugging.
He has most likely been doing isolated exercises, which is fine, if that's how he wants to look.

If you have no muscle, and you're fat enough to cut, do yourself a favor and build muscle before you cut.
The basic way it works is: The more you eat, the more mass your muscles gain. The more you CAN eat, the more protein you can intake per day.
If you cut, you're gonna be a fucking weakling, and it's gonna take you easily double the amount of time to get results. Hence why EVERY single person, who knows what they are doing bulk AND THEN cut.

Considering i gained most of my "surplus" weight at my abdomen/thighs/ass, i therefore need to put effort mostly to these areas. Otherwise my hands are pretty much skinny, but i gaining little of muscle as in picture related would be nice as well. I might try going for the same kind of hair, right now they look like the one of Jimmy Page, which, itself is not a bad thing, but trying different things is not necessary bad.

>> No.8060726

>i therefore need to put effort mostly to these areas
nah, that's bullshit. First, targeted fat burn doesnt exist, that is if you want to make said areas smaller. if you will train them and gain muscle, you will make them look even bigger then they are now. What u want is make ur other parts of body bigger, so they look proportionate, all while training and making muscle out of fat.

Alright thanks. I never heard anyone on my team with great bodies ever talk about macros or lifting or shit like that, at least I didn't pay attention if they did, I just thought they got that way b doing more swimming, but now I know that that's not true at all. I'll have to look into it. I enjoy exercise right now just for the health benefits and because it feels good, not for the aesthetics, but looking like the male version of a cardio bunny just isn't doing it for me anymore. I don't want to get huge or anything, just looking to look more masculine while still being able to fit into an S or an M.

I think you can get what youd call a decent body if you put in years and years into swimming, but the fastest way to get there is through focused lifting. Theres way too much to cover for me to summarize for you, I recommend reading through the /fit/ sticky to build up a small foundation, then build up your knowledge through videos on youtube & anything else you're curious about through google, including how to perform exercises properly! If you want serious results, youll take the time to research everything on your own, take your time to make sure you know the necessities to lifting to make sure you make the most out of your time spent to keep you motivated. All I can recommend is that you should do a 4 - 5 day split, approx. 4 - 5 exercises per muscle group (excluding bis & tris which should be 2 - 3 each) & keep your rep + sets volume & protein as high as possible. Good luck!
