it's not that it didn't fit, I just didn't like the way it fits. Stutterheim are long, very tight in the chest and extremely loose in waist. Makes for a really weird silhouette if your not tall enough. Someone over 6'2 or even a little on the heavy side could easily pull this off.

Maybe im not /fa/ enough, but that shirt looks like a thin dirty rag.
Completely serious.
Maybe you could explain what makes it worth more than 100 bucks in your mind. I'm confused.
Is it just the name of the designer or something?

>> No.7996036

>>7996017

Many people look for different qualities in a garment

some people like rick owens because hes a big name and they want to fit in with high fashion folks and will drop big bucks to do so, so in a way yes the name is worth something.

others with a little more sense and experience appreciate rick stuff for what it's worth. it's difficult to find things in a similar cut, fabric, or feel to something like this tee without getting up there in price.

This specific shirt is designed as an undershirt to layer underneath other clothes, and it meets this function well. It's cut close and tight to the body with an elongated hem for the long rick silhouette. extended sleeves give you a gloved look and look fantastic underneath long sleeved jackets. and of course the fabric is a cotton/silk blend that is wonderfully soft and comfortable while degenerating and fraying in signature rick style.

I could go on and on like this but it would probably bore you, and that pretty much covers it. these things considered, I feel that $110 is a very fair price for this specific piece and the value i hold it at within my mind.

But I do care to owe you the respect of an explanation. Reading the fuuka archive, yes I did take the business as a creative AND financial hobby. The post was right, and I do share that I did capitalize to support the hobby.

At the same, a lot of my past buyers can attest to this. I went the extra miles. Easy negotiation and deeply discounted final invoices. I helped proxy items from Japan, email alert when a certain item showed up. Even took a deposit to buy for them, to be consolidated with more items into a bigger sale and box. If prompted, I offered simple, affordable souvenirs froms Hawaii, optional mutual gratuities shared! I've gone as far as send a free Raf Simons original shoe boxes to one in need.

The scam? I've explain on a need to know basis. One man did not respect trade terms after agreement, and went as far as cheating less mid way. I did not take kindly to the disrepect and served just desserts.

At the same time for credibility sake a few months back I did share a extensive history and post office receipts. Of sales successfully shared post Sufu blacklist.

I simply value respect and time. I'm man not scum, just like any man. I did personally like your well composed fits and discussion, and I guess it's a shame that I did not contribute much other than sales in the past year.

my main problem with you is that you're actually damaging the consumers.
i'll tell you a story abt my friend josh. more than anything he wanted an undercover ss12 "she brings the rain" rider's jacket, he had sold a bunch of shit just 2 afford it. multiple times, either two or three, he was outbid by fucking novici because novici though there was a market for undercover riders. then he places them at a far higher price that often prices out the consumers bidding against him who actually have a real emotional or at least aesthetic attraction 2wards the piece. novici rly only think abt his own financial gain & that's why he goes after the big ticket items that p much everyone wants and probably have been after for a substantial amount of time. rather than acting as an intermediate. you're not a fucking service like sutocorp that actually provides people with the opportunity to do things they couldn't do without you, what you do is take the opportunity away from them and then offer them that same opportunity, at a higher price of course. you can talk about how you go "above and beyond" for the customer but to me you're a swindling cunt, "Scam" or not, you're fucking exploitative of other people's passion for clothing. You talk about it as a "Creative hobby". It's not for you, you're creating a digital archive for these pieces, you're not putting any kind of fucking passion into what you're buying other than it's market value. you're a fucking exploitative capitalist pig who exploits

no...
you really cannot slime your way out of that argument
your place in the market is rudimentary, a superficial middleman profiting on a rich market that would otherwise be populated by people with a genuine interest in the clothing OUTSIDE of resale.

you superficially increase the worth, out-price the market and out compete those who really want the piece but are financially troubled.
all you do is take and take, leaving barren land in your wake, like wallmart or some sort of other vile corporation.

your anecdotal lies are nothing but lies, your name is marked so i'll treat you as such.

any buyer could get a better service than they do from you AT a cheaper price if they only took the initiative, but you exploit and victimise their nativity so that when they find out they are left feeling cheated.

i really encourage anyone who cares about their hard earned money and the future of these markets to not purchase items off resellers like this
especially ones that HAVE been marked by PROFESSIONAL companies as scammers.

just read his post, can almost hear him licking the corners of his milk-coated whiskers between each keystroke.
i have absolutely nothing to gain by denouncing him aside from MAYBE savings shreds of the market i cherish for the sake of the wider community. he and a handful of others are effectively monopolising it.

juniors posts i linked in the fuuka are put together much more eloquently, so if you haven't read it - read it.

again, he is a scammer and not worth dealing with. he is just moving product for a profit, feeding on the ill-informed, like the vile, idle and useless middleman he is. let the pieces stagnate in his wardrobe, they're all hype anyway.

PROMPT, this was back in the day! Anyway, yeah man I did what I love to do and considered my enterprise as a creative AND lucrative hobby blah blah.

Having said, I read you're on the extreme with capitalist pig blah blah yeah strong opinion. You want agreement, the mutual understanding and demand an apology where you see appropriate? I can't serve you those on a platter, I can say I haven't been on the market this year. Then, you'd still have to worry about another me of the thousands of others buyers still in the market. you have to start squashing somewhere and i'd rather start here where it isn't a pandemic (like it is on sufu and sz and grailed).

really, everyone circumvent all these assholes (not everyone is but you're not losing anything in the long run, it's better for you to save money and educate now, it'll only take 20mins tops) and just hit up the auction sites themselves. if you want to sell see if you can cop a deal with a local consignment, let the shit flow in your local community it's much more rewarding.
(((((sorry junior)))))

haha more lies, you obviously have been on the market since you wouldn't be able to subsist on pieces like those UC riders and Rick leathers lying idle (straw also noticed your snipe so there's that too).

this is josh

Here's what you were doing: "aggressively outbidding any and all items with mutual interest" with the intent to profit off those with "mutual interest". if your investment in the item and your "interest" was emotional or really anything other than financial, you would probably see why this is wrong.

>No difference right
let's look at this from the example of a real life auction
imagine that there's a bidding war over a first edition of a particular book between three people: yourself, another big fan of the author, or a dealer in rare books
now obviously it would upset you either way to lose because you didn't get the book
but if the other collector got it at least it goes to a good home in a sense, because it's someone with a real passion for the author's work and probably gets immense personal satisfaction from owning and reading it
if the dealer gets the book, he's only looking at it's value, and will turn around and sell it. not only do you not get the book, you are losing out on getting the book because someone else's financial gain is being made off the fact that you didn't get it and that people like you, who are actually passionate about the author's work, exist to buy the book

look, i'm not against the buying and selling of clothing in general, and i think it can be good to find people selling shit at way less than they bought it at. but at least the majority of the time it's something they've actually worn and liked and the purchase was an end in itself, because they like the items, rather than simply a means in which to make more money

I can see how you'd think i treat this like a business but I don't see the real harm in putting a couple of consignment finds and imported stuff that doesn't fit me perfectly for relatively reasonable prices online.

you guys probably haven't been around in these threads but whenever anyone asks me what proxy I use or where I get things I don't hesitate to recommend mine, and hand out referral emails. i have less of a problem with you reselling consignment store finds because ur acting as a mediator between us (the online consumers) and the ny consignment stores (the offline marketplace). you are depriving the local consignment scene from good finds which is kind of a bummer, but i won't lie, u benefit people like me (for instance when i bought those pants off you, far cheaper than anything else i've been able to find through ebay/mbok/rakuten/yahoo!jp)
i think reselling imports is kind of bad when you're looking to make a profit off of it. nothing wrong with at least trying to recoup some of your money or whatever, but at least have the humility to offer relatively lower prices on items, and when you're selling items that are clearly in the wrong size it can be kinda transparent that you're just looking for $$$, which is a bit unfair 2 other ppl
that's what the good find threads are for on superfuture and stylezeitgeist, i post shit there so other people can hopefully find items i think are cool or i know they'll value

I've already said i'm very open about getting people to use y!jp and rak where other people can easily get ahold of the items they've been watching for.

you keep leading back to dishonesty and my "farce" which I think is a load of crap on your part, I don't see how anything I've been saying is manipulative in that way. Yes, i have imported some things for the express purpose of making a profit off of them in the western market and yes, i have said so before. but I highly doubt anyone is going to miss a pair of rick cropped pants because of their emotional connection to it, because they're readily available almost everywhere if you put out the minimum effort to browse any online marketplace. I'm not choking anyone out of their need for said pants or making anyone suffer except for maybe one dude who thought he was going to get them for a couple hundred yen cheaper. So it costs him a little more to go find a pair elsewhere, and this is the horrible effect of my reselling commonly sold item on the market.

>>7996707

consignment resellers are honestly a part of "the scene" whether you like it or not. see this ebay account? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yohji-Yamamoto-Jacket-M-Rick-Owens-Balmain-Helmut-Lang-/261378989047?pt=US_CSA_MC_Outerwear&hash=item3cdb66dbf7

they literally take a picture in the store, upload it to ebay, wait for an offer, then cash in. it's a horrible and scummy business model but there's nothing we can do about it

I'm not trying to validate my own consignment resale by bringing this up, but to claim that the "scene" is being "ruined" by people like me is complete bullshit, this kind of thing has been going on for a long time and won't stop soon.

lmao are you comparing yourself to a consignment store???
they are REAL BUSINESS employing REAL PEOPLE and doing a service for the community.
They AGGREGATE shit people don't want and make it available to more people - that's their role they operate LOCALLY
that is truly a service for both consumer and seller.
you really are none of that...
you're source is GLOBAL (read: access for everyone) you just aggregate the shit that managed to stick to your hands and try to sell it for a quick profit while upping the price and again OUTPRICING everyone that wants it.
the only people that win are you and the shipping company - everyone loses

again, you really aren't shit, your whole system is glass for me and your lies aren't doing anything but wiping the surface.

>lmao are you comparing yourself to a consignment store???
Just gonna jump in here cause I think you misunderstood what he said. Or at least, I understood it differently. He's not comparing himself to the store, but to the person who walks into a consignment store, takes pictures of nice pieces, sells them online, then goes back and buys the item for a fraction of what they bought it for.
I might be misunderstanding your point though. I dunno.
Just wanna clear this shit up and make sure everyone understands each other so we can get to the point where we all learn a lesson, then go back to buying, selling, and trading.
OT, what's with people taking pictures while standing like that?

I'm neither backpedaling nor lying as you assume. why do you overturn my openness as bullshit and manipulation every time? go through fuuka and check for yourself.

You claim to have "been around these markets" for longer than me, but it's not an easy thing to just take a trip over to y!jp and grab Rick for "bottom dollar" like you say. the market for his stuff is nearly as congested as it is here. Because auctions continue until no more bids are made for five minutes, it's impossible to snipe and prices can go sky-high for simple pieces. I can guarantee almost no one goes to y!jp with the intention of grabbing rick for bargain bin prices because that's all they can afford--the only cheap auctions are those that fly under the radar and those are few and far between.

When i talk about the one dude who missed out, he missed out on a rare good deal, he wasn't robbed wrongfully of something he knows he couldn't afford usually. If you go somewhere EXPECTING to find Rick for low prices you will always be disappointed--not because of resellers, but because a highly competitive marketplace. People who can't afford the typical going prices can't expect to be able to enter the marketplace reliably.

>>7998063

you completely misinterpreted that and i'm not attempting to compare myself to a consignment store.

An additional point; I don't think anyone can honestly look at my prices and complain that i'm committing highway robbery -- i know the typical going prices for these pieces and i typically UNDERCUT them to give whoever i'm selling to a good deal. I regularly give big discounts to /fa/ and people who I know.

your argument revolves around me being a shrewd, dishonest, and malicious person which I deny on all fronts. I don't know how longer you're going to spew out hateful assumptions but it's getting you nowhere as well.
