I like the 1460 in that color

But if you wear them like boots all the teens wearing the low end mall tier docs like the ones sold at skate shops will mock you for not rolling your pant leg up 6 inches

Or showing off the doc logo

It's a classic cheapmgersion of a decent work boot ruined by Tweens and teens

Just buy engineer boots

I'm trying to buy a pair of the brown LL bean katahdin boots, but I live in sydney and checked online and we don't have any stockhists. What should I do? Gamble and buy em online. Wats the fit like??

>> No.7995449

Also just wanted to add that I've got a pair of the brown Montgomery 1000mile boot which I love but don't wear as much as I should since the leather on them is really shinny. To the point where it kinda looks like a brown plastic and that's why they don't get as much wear and I'm trying to cop a pair of the katahdins. Possible to give em a hot soak like a leather jacket to remove the sheen and make em look weathered ???

Just copped these on ebay, hoping I lucked out and finally found a nice cheap pair of brown boots

Don't know anything about the brand: Bed Stu

Oh well. $80 isn't the end of the world if they turn out to be shitty. What do you guys think?

Slimmer one probably, nothing work wear looking. probably on the dressier side. I really like the AE Dalton, but I'm looking for something slightly cheaper.

Shirts are sold out.
You can get the boots off amazon for about $100, which is $45 less than from Clarks.

About to pull the trigger - I think these are fucking killer, but I have no idea what I could wear them with.

They're original Luftwaffe boots, and they're my size. Ideas? Help me dress up like the people who bombed my relatives in Poland, internet-friends!

>> No.7995636

>>7995627
I'd like them a lot more without that zip, practicality be damned. Still, 80 bucks you say? Not like anyone buy yourself is going to notice the zip (unless you wear fucking shorts with them like some kind of retarded)

>> No.7995640

>>7995627
From what I'm aware Bed Stu's quality is questionable at best. But yeah, $80 isn't the end of the world, unless you're a poorboi like me.

>> No.7995647

>>7995634
>and they're my size.
You sure about that m8?
If these are ww2 era boots the sizing might be quite different from what you're used to today.

If you really want to be sure get te seller to run a tape measure on the inside from heel to toe just to make sure.

Also, you'd better hope you don't have cankles or some shit (have you ever worn top boots before?).

If you're a manlet, forget about it. Top boots only look good on the reasonably tall (and slim) and will look ridiculous on the short, squat and fat (unless your're fucking goring but that doesn't count)

The zip bothers me, too. Such a bummer, and pretty effeminate. But yeah, should be decently hidden I hope.

>>7995640
Aw, really? Poo. I hope these hold up - I have a pair of Dan Post boots I've been wearing daily since my shoes decided to fall apart... may or may not have been stretching the truth about $80 not being a big deal to my broke ass, haha

>>7995634
I can't imagine those are affordable... maybe look for non-authentic jackboots somewhere else? If those are actually authentic, they probably deserve to be kept somewhere safe instead of worn, but that's just me. No clue how you could pull those off to be honest, unless you were going for a warped goth/punk look or something.

Remember that the shaft of those boots, and any jackboot, is going to be really wide, so looser-fitting pants are going to be a must. That is, unless you're going for the full Adolph and tucking the pants into the boots. Lol. Please post a fit if you buy them!

Slim boots are somewhat of a rarity in the lower dollar segment unfortunately. That price range seems to be dominated by work boots or "the work boot aesthetic", so chunky as soles and bulbous toes.

You can check out the Chippewa service boot. It's marginally better than the typical red wings and wolverines.

Bit more than 200 new I think.

>>7995663

It depends really on what kind of leather it is, and how it is treated (is it waxy coated? if so it's already inherently water resistant).

If you want to waterproof them for whatever reason, then use waterproofing like obernauf's. If you just want to nourish the leather if its dry then boot cream/boot oil/mink oil/generic leather conditioner from any good brand will do.

Honestly, if the shipping wasn't absolutely horrendous I'd suggest Chevalier's. Massdrop did a drop recently where 60 people got them for $220 shipping included, but it'll probably be a while before that happens again. If you're in the U.S. the shipping alone makes it almost $300 from what I remember.

At that price for the chevaliers I'd go for the OSB trench massdrop instead tbh. >>7995452

At least with those I know that they're not using a shitty insole for blake/rapid (OSB's gywelted and leather insoled)

pretty much, unless they're for cosplay
they're not even good equestrian boots
but if you have the cash to splash and you want it so bad why ask?

Normally I'd probably agree, but you can get a plain toe variant that's goodyear welted from what I've gathered from Chevalier's site. Also, the only gripe I have with the OSB's is that they're final sale.

Plain toed boots and shoes end up looking worse for wear IME, and the cap makes it interesting.
