I'd be interested if anyone is doing DIY scab jeans again. I've been thinking about cutting up an old pair of jeans for it.

>> No.7971288

>>7971214
From what I've read, you'll need more than one pair of jeans to make it look good. I've been putting off making my own pair, but my plan was something like this:
>thrift a bunch of shitty denim, maybe some light leather
>haphazardly dye it black
>cut it to scraps
>sew it together using a well-fitting pair of jeans for referencing measurements

>> No.7971292

>>7971288
I should add, you'll need more than one pair of jeans so that there's contrast between patches.

I was thinking of just scabbing a pair of jeans with bunch of different fabric. Just sewing patches on not constructing jeans.

Method 1: Cut off the hem of the shirt
Method 2: Take a seam ripper and remove the thread around the hem then unfold it. This will make the shirt a bit longer and the ends will curve but you can cut it off and the shirt will be roughly the same length versus a little shorter from method 1.

To make scab jeans do you just sew patches into a current pair of pants or do you use the scraps to construct an entirely new pair of pants?

The former I'd do, the latter sounds like way too much work.

You can also use a paint marker thingy

You can get them at any art supply store for a couple of bucks

>> No.7975113

Most people do the former. The latter would be more interesting.
If you've seen the legit UISM Scab jeans, the patches are only around the thigh. Not sure which way they do it though.
An entire pair of jeans made out of just black denim patches would be pretty dope though.

wait, really? I've never used Dylon and only used Rit and I'm convinced Rit is pretty much crap because I never get results I want. Pale colors, not deep or solid at all, especially with black, which is really just a dark violet. I've looked up Dylon and it just seemed like Rit was just a cheap alternative to Dylon.
