Let's share some nice less known sneaker brands, there is more than just nike, nb and adidas.
I kick off with Saucony

At 111 years old, Saucony is among one of the oldest sneaker companies still around today.

yes okay OP DC is a huge brand

but they tried with this one and I think it has potential. I wouldn't buy it for that god awful logo but still. I see possibilities.

Saucony is always trying to be a bit original with their shoes. For instance, this collab with BAIT is 100% vegan

Why do companies insist on doing this to perfectly good sneakers? The only reason companies like Nike, Adidas, and Saucony are still stylish is because they have that signature shape on their shoes which designates them. If Nike started printing their logo on anywhere but the tongue their shoes would be thrown into the trash. Amazing that several companies still insist on putting their god awful names on the shoe.

All they have to do is look to Aeropostale, Hollister, and Ambercrombie and Fitch to see how horribly that policy backfires.

I would like to know, too! I would consider buying them, even at that price.

>Why do companies insist on doing this to perfectly good sneakers?
it's all a mindgame.

>Nike, Adidas, and Saucony are still stylish is because they have that signature shape on their shoes which designates them
I find the Saucony logo visually appealing. nike is pretty terrible and I do not want to buy adidas because of those HIDEOUS stripes.

OP here, wanted to post those!
Those are Tisza shoes(cipo), named after the river.

I saw those in real life during my visit in Budapest. I loved them purely because of the whole "communist" shoe image. Unfortunately there weren't really cool colourways. Have been checking their website some time, but their english site hasn't been updated in 2009 and it looks like they don't ship outside Hungary...

Yea I love seeing these. Some of these you often find in the budget corner in some shoe store but sometimes they have actually some really good models. Most of these brands were also big in the 80's/90's and are actually inventors of some of the styles you see on modern popular shoes.

well, i read the wikipedia article again, not sure if anybody is interested in the history of the company, but here is my findings:
i think there were a few years in the late 90's early 2000's when the sneakers weren't produced (with the fall of the Soviet Union, Hungary became an open market, people were able to buy the well known Western brands too and Tisza wasn't the only option anymore), then the brand name was bought by a Hungarian ltd in 2003, they started to produce the shoes again in the factory of the original Tisza Company, in 2009 this original company went bankrupt , most employees quit, but the ltd who bought the brand name continued producing the shoes, which i can confirm, because there's a store near me, basically i walk in front of it every day and they're still open, they also have new stuff from time to time

eeh. imo lakai has ok/acceptable enough designs, and you can cop inexpensive af.
but the colorways are usually not the best & the branding is always apparent as all hell if you recognize that de-branded 'swoosh' thing.

also, the quality is kinda low-tier; i'll bet ur pic. is a b4/after of 1-day's skating...

Having said that, they're actually not ALL despicable.

For me, I don't really think you can beat the Margiela lows, classic shape, no branding to cheapen the look, great colors, the off-white laces add a lot to it actually... And for highs you can't really beat the KVA multilace... At least for me. Most people probably prefer other highs.

I see this thread is for less-known sneakers.

I nominate that company that make GATs. Not MMM, NOT Kent Wang. It's the other one. The site is Eastern European or something so it's basically impossible to actually purchase anything:

Svensson.

I appreciate these:
