Is it bad if most of my clothes are from Uniqlo?

As some one who's just starting to try to look better, I've decided I'm going for a minimal/basic wardrobe
Uniqlo is good quality and basic and has pretty much everything I'm looking for (Apart from bolder/more personalized pieces like shoes, jackets, jeans etc.)
Plus, I'm not doing so well in the financial department and they're relatively inexpensive
Would it be stupid/weird/frowned upon if all of my tees, shirts, pants, sweaters etc. were from Uniqlo?

>> No.7947499

no

shop where oyu want, its your life, your money, your style. Not sure why you even bothered asking here, its like you were baiting for negativity.

I just know /fa/ can be overly critical which is what i'm after
Still, would it be stupid to buy 80% of clothes from one store? I'm not sure why but I feel like it'd be frowned upon

As long as you aren't completely copying an outfit from a runway show, it probaby wouldn't matter.

if you're new to clothing, there's nothing wrong with loading up on basics from one place. it's a good idea to get a solid set of basics then slowly add larger better pieces.

Thanks for the reassurance
While you guys are here; I've read the sticky a few times but am still undecided on where to go for jeans.
As I said, I'm not loaded. I'm looking for skinnies. Probably skinnier than what Uniqlo offers

i think lots of people have a "store", i own loads of stuff from weekday just bc it's affordable & nice. it's not really intentional tho.

japanese grills think it's pretty gross but i don't think anyone else will even notice.

>> No.7947543

why do they specifically think it's gross?

>> No.7947548

No. Do get some better jeans and shoes when you can though.

>> No.7947553

Nothing wrong with that, although your outfits might be a bit dull since Uniqlo doesn't have a whole lot of variation.

grab a pair of slim raws from urban-outfitters. they have "unbranded" ones that are about $80. alternatively, there are a whole lot of awesome brands at really low prices on grailed, many of which are new.

I'd actually recommend it.

I wish I had done that. When I started making myself a new wardrobe, I went all over the place and bought from every place. There are now a lot of things I regret buying.

I should have focused on the basics and then start building from there.

Uniqlo's not a bad place to start from. Good quality for the price, decent cuts.

You could also get a pair of nice raw and maybe DB.

But don't try to get those RO or other designers stuff or you'll just fail. Even if you had the money.

I could never rock RO, I'm too conservative with my image

>> No.7947644

As long as you buy clothes that fit you (meaning not too big), you'll look better than most people anyway.

Once you have enough basics to dress for he week, you could then save up to get a more expensive piece. But think your purchase through, never go on a spending spree except for basics since they're supposed to be cheaper anyway. You'll regret it.

Just don't buy too much. Though I never bought from uniqlo.

And mix a bit.
Go to thrift stores and look for the simple pieces, I once bought a slim fitted Joop longlseeve with a pocket and a nice stitching on it for 10€, all black, take a look inside dollar stores when you pass them, try on a jeans at h&m, look for the reduced pieces that lay a bit hidden, get a tshirt that's solid but cheap, Levi's has them, sometimes you can get them for cheaper...

And again, don't buy too much.
4 tops, 1 or 2 jeans and a sweater is a basic starter wardrobe already.

Also, buy the right fits, preferably body shaped, because you can combine much easier:
Skinny pants that are tapered look cleaner especially when it starts raining or when they get dirty... you simply start looking a bit rockish.
Jeans that are wide around the ancles start looking bummish and make your shoes also look more disgusting.

I just find that I barely have enough clothes to last me the week, even though I have a good 6 tees, 2 pairs of jeans, 2 sweaters, 2 bombers/raincoats, 2 shorts, 1 pair of chinos, 2 button downs
It's just that I have limit amounts of outfits since these items don't really go together

>> No.7947770

I only buy basics from Uniqlo. Their outerwear is boxy and huge.

Its like you retards never even lived in Japan and only experienced if off of Japanese streetwear images. No one gives a fuck and no one is going to judge you out on the street, especially not in Japan where politeness and respect is stressed above all else.
