Any alternatives to APC?

I like their clean take on traditional menswear (I like nice clean fits but I also like the more conservative aesthetic of heteronormative masculinity) but I think a lot of pieces are overpriced for the design and quality they're actually offering

Rag & bone

Not really cheaper but at least it's worth the price

I can't tell the difference between my gap sweaters and my apc ones, rag & bone is a different story though.

>> No.7876828

Patrik Ervell, Stephan Schneider, Norse Projects.. Were you looking at an alternative for a cheaper price range?

APC's quality isn't too bad, but you're right, for the price it's pretty ridiculous. I would only really cop APC on sale.

>> No.7876834

theory, rag & bone, i love ugly,

>> No.7876840

apc covers a lotta shit
just buy from brands that specialize in less stuff but have same quality

like howlin/sns herning for sweaters

>> No.7876878

What's the ultimate basic bitch brand?

Like, basic designs (NOT dadcore stuff like Brioni, but actual basic and casual clothing like APC and Acne) but with 10/10 construction, detail, quality...?

apart from bespoke of course

>> No.7876881

how is acne quality in comparison to apc

>> No.7876894

Similar. Both have lots of factories in Turkey, China, Portugal, Italy and some Baltic countries

What do you guys think of JCrew as far as basic bitch stuff goes

Not the most tacky and daddyprepcore pieces

i just couldnt go any longer without black jeans :'(

W2C basics like APC provides but are actually slim fitting

Not talking about jeans here but about tops, like sweaters, cardigans, zip up hoodies, outerwear, tees (especially those two)...

I like APC but they're not slim enough usually

>> No.7877038

>>7876909
Don't worry they're the best you're going to get in that price range anyway. And they don't really go on sale.

>> No.7877056

COS do a pretty great job of good quality minimalist basics, i occasionally get feature items from APC but plan on building most of my spring wardrobe with COS, maybe some uniqlo

>> No.7877060

>>7877056
I've had awful luck regarding COS sizing and cuts

Sizing varies too much, cuts are frequently WAY too fat and boxy with really long limbs

I'm not short by any means either, I'm 187cm tall

they have plenty of stores in europe, probably worth going into stores and trying stuff on rather than buying online

pfft, no way. quality of apc stuff in relation to the price is much better than r&b's and to top it off, apc is generally cheaper.

i hope you're trolling

from what i've seen, acne is a lot more design oriented so you're paying more for the patterns and cuts than quality and it shows.

not bad. i would never pay more than 250 for slp jeans. idk why people like them so much

>> No.7877382

>>7877353
Nah, apc is almost always more expensive than rag&bone. Quality really can't compare either, apc is overpriced as fuck, it's seriously no better than gap, if you think I'm trolling compare them for yourself. Rag& bone is some of the best that you can't get in that price range, it's some really nice stuff.

But acne and apc is overpriced and mall tier (quality wise) but r&b is actually well made, nice stuff. People should stop lumping them together

I haven't been too happy with apc stuff I've bought, nor acne, but rag & bone never disappointed me. That's as far as my bias goes. If anything I like the way acne and APC's stuff looks the most, but I'm just referring to the price/quality ratio.

i'm seriously surprised that you feel this way. I've always found apc's fabrics more interesting, nicer looking, more durable, more likely to be made of natural fibers, and with a cleaner finish. The R&B pants I've handled have been thin, prewashed, made of cotton synthetic blends. Their other trousers aren't much better. The tees, well i've just never liked their tees. Even their knits are thin.

>> No.7877513

>>7877481
Well I have no experience with their pants, but every pair of apc jeans I've have (4) have had some sort of rip or stitching gone loose from casual wear, only one pair was raw btw. Like I said sure I like the design of apc stuff more and their knits are actually thicker in my experience but that's not really a testament for quality, their sweaters tend to lose shape after a few wears and the fabrics they use aren't nearly as nice, (especially their cotton). I've never had anything from apc as nice as my rag&bone cardigan

APC and Acne are fuccboi tier

there's bound to be a boutique in your area that carries em, I implore you to go see it in person. It's shit. The only thing they have are good fits on the jeans, which are actually horrible made in china quality. Just find a tailor that can work with raw denim, buy yourself some fat guy heritage bullshit and get them tailored to a pristine fit.

Personally, the worst offenders I think are the printed acne pullovers. They legit feel and fit like some H&M bullshit.
