This particular though isn't really great in that it's controlled by what's left of the man's upper arm and not in a "direct" way. He doesn't think "move finger up" and the finger moves up, but instead does a specific movement in his arm after putting the prosthetic hand in a particular setting and it moves the finger(s) in the way it was configured to move.

Still quite an impressive prosthetic, obviously, but this only works if you have some of your arm left and the control isn't direct from the command in the mind to the movement.

There are more modern prosthetics though that allow for a direct control by the mind, generally by putting the nerves on a relatively useless muscle (like some chest muscle) and measuring the resulting activity there to make the hand move. Makes the prosthetic feel easier to control and more natural.

Get a prosthetic arm and remove the fake skin from it.

It looks way better then that fake skin shit that never matches with
the coloration of your actual hand it also makes your hand look bloated
to your other arm.

Furthermore showing so openly that you have a prosthetic just shows
how confident you are about it. People will not feel awkward and sorry
about it and treat you like anyone else.

my aunt lost her arm after being hit my a trolley when she was a child. Things were't so advanced then, so she just doesn't have an arm. You may worry about losing your hand, and possibly feel insecure about having only 1, but being 100% serious with you right here, I never even notice she doesn't have an arm. I even forget she lost her arm, she's just so handy with 1 arm that you don't realize it.

OP, many doctors are putting the RAWs (Don't know how they're called in English) up for free so people can 3D print them, that will save you a lot of money, so try to ask your doctor if there's a kind of those prosthetics that will be useable for you.
Commissioning someone to 3D print it for you won't be so hard, if you go to a college you might even get the commission for free. The materials have a lot of colors to choose from, I recommend picking something that will match your hair, it will really make simple outfits pop.
Source: I'm interning with a guy who does these where I live. Oh one of the guys got his prosthetic carved with an intrincate pattern, it looked very beautiful, it's like having a tattoo without so much commitment.
