It's not like you posting Rolex Submariner or something, just cheap shitty generic watches. Even Casio would not be that bad as yours, even though you have to be a terrorist to pull them off, otherwise Casio is second worst after "le classy cheap watches".

I agree with your sentiment, but your syntax is giving me Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

As for watches, here is my new purchase:
>Seiko SRP307 "New Monster"

It's ugly, for sure, but I find the design to be rather charming. It's kind of like the Hummer H1 or the Volkswagen Beetle. They have ugly designs, but they have a certain charm to them. The Seiko Monster delivers this charm in spades.

I also can't wait to take this thing out for diving, snorkeling, etc. I'm going to beat this thing to shit.

Some people like to collect things. This may include watches. You might question the usefulness of watches aside from telling the time, but you cannot deny the aesthetic value of a watch. It's the perfect accessory for the wrist.

like anything, there's different watches for different situations.

a huge dive watch, while great for checking the time underwater, will look goofy with a suit and might not even fit under your shirt sleeve.
by that same token, an elegant formal watch will be out of place with your t-shirt and jeans.

also some people just like owning things, bruh.

>Watches are something you'd be keeping for a longer period.
not really
especially the cheaper ones, mech or quartz

how many are going to get their cheapo mechanicals serviced when the time comes rather than just buying a new watch or a better one by that time.

vintage/antiques don't count
im talking about modern made cheapo's

cheap mechanicals are not worth it unless you just really like the design and/or have the disposable income

buying one decent watch, quartz or mech, is better than multiple cheap quartz/mech

but to each their own

unless you're talking about a vostok amphib those things are disproportionately durable
cheap, don't need servicing ever
by the time it does need one you're probably so attached to it that you'd want to pay the price to find someone that can work on a russian watch

modern cheapo quartz with 10yr battery is more accurate, more durable and cheaper in the long run compared to modern cheapo mech
far more practical, if that's a concern - but some just like how mech's work.

i say save to buy a decent mech that has some kind of value and is worth servicing, rather than surrounding yourself with disposables that cumulatively will cost a lot to be serviced

prices may ='ise in the end, but quality over quantity

you don't really need a watch in this day and age, but it's good to have at least one

ensure that that singular one is decent and is worth passing on to any of your wretched spawn when your shriveled husk bites the dust

it's actually pretty crafty what they've done:
they took inexpensive quartz movements and stuck them into one case with one dial.

Well depending on how you want to fix it, you can find a similar vintage donor watch and swap the parts, or get some brand new parts instead from Meranom or Zenitar. You could order a brand new movement if the current one no longer works. The bezel and crown could be replaced, but the small red dots bezel is less common. You could replace the case but you could rather clean it well and polish the acrylic crystal with toothpaste or other abrasive substance. Do not polish the bezel or case.
The watch isn't worth much so depending how sentimental it is, it would be easier to buy a whole vintage or brand new one.

Daniel Wellington watches use a proprietary movement, which will soon become the norm in the watch industry. Yeah, that's right, Daniel Wellington is years ahead of the competition. DW watches also have a unique and sophisticated design, which will speak of your fine taste. The build quality of the watches are also noteworthy. You're even worse than the plebs who think Hublot is top tier.
Protip: go look at some George Daniels, Dufour or Lange, and realize that PP/VC isn't the end all of horology (and don't get me started on Audemars)

So, I got a full ride to undergad at my university for academics, extra currics, and sports and it came with summer experiences. I was super lucky. Im taking a gap year this year and then doing HSPS for the army and they pay for medical school. So, I leave with no debt. I can then focus on becoming the person I have wanted to be. Family is lower middle class so kohls is all I have had.

Any seasoned horologist respects the workmanship that goes into a rolex. Is it on the same level as PP? Of course not. Is it a solidly built entry level luxury watch (or tool watch depending on the model)? Yes.

Real. Castro had one watch set to Cuban time and the other to Moscow. Since Che wore a Rolex GMT (which could show multiple time zones and was available at that time) its safe to assume that wearing two watches was more of a symbolic thing for Castro.
