There are kids who get into skateboarding because of the social aspect around it. At my middle school there were girls who would line up at the skate park to watch guys skate and there were guys who realized that they could get girls through skating. These are the guys and girls who figured out how the system works at a young age.
They were out making friends, and pursing a hobby and the girls showed up because they like guys who are fun and social.

That is how many guys are brought up. Believe it or not, this is what society is teaching boys to think about relationships. They believe men should try to "win" a girl using these big romantic gestures, without seeing the real message behind it.
