im an archi student and i am still trying to define my look. this cote et ciel bag is pretty much an embodiment of the type of style im working towards. the particular aspects im trying to portray are interesting forms that reflect forward thinking, and textures/colors that work to create a dynamic and interesting composition while being subtle. in a way, i want to have a "new" or "innovative" feel, but without the outlandish/obscure characteristic of goof or nxtlvl shit like sruli, and preferably something with a little more longevity. I understand that styles will progress and i will have to update my wardrobe over time, but i dont want to delve into shit thats going to be acceptable for 6 months at a time.

What are your guys thoughts?

So far i figured knits and weaves are gonna be my friend as they provide not only interesting texture, but have potential for interesting 3d composition as well. I would like to play off menswear for the sake of a semi-professional look, but without any obvious influence of that played out mfa/gq thinking. my skin tone is sort of olive, and i have brown hair and eyes, so greys and subtle warm tones like maroon are my friend.

i think im only interested in comfy as a way to ground the style in a socially acceptable category. the pic you posted is a little too tumblr for me, the scarf, the shoes and socks, the layers coming through the placket all seems too intentional and i guess its not really subtle enough for me. what i like about subtlety is that it seems more effortless, but at the same time if you look closer you notice the interesting elements. textures, flowing but structured shapes, all are ways to create an interesting composition without screaming for attention the way the vibrant contrast of colors in your pic does. color palette is correct in tone, but not saturation i suppose.
