What's the difference between the Cheap Monday "New Black" and "Overdyed Black" ?

ARE YOU LITERALLY GAY?

>> No.7752842

different tones iirc

>> No.7752866

My understanding was that the "New Black" is a slightly lighter/grungier black, whereas the "Overdyed Black" is more of a pure black. However, when I look at online store pictures, it seems that the New Black is a pure black (or at least looks no different to the Overdyed Black).

Also I want to purchase a pair of the NARROW Overdyed Black, but almost no stores seem to stock it in 30/34. Do they still make it or has it been replaced by the New Black ?

>> No.7752868

new black is a little faded in places. od black seems to be the more popular choice.

>> No.7752869

>>7752830
Overdyed Black seems to be more intense black, even the stitching is in black. There are 2 different 'new black' versions on their website right now which look very different from each other - one of them has a brownish tone, the other one is more on the black side but still not as intense as overdyed black and the stitching has a silver tone.

>> No.7752875

how do the "narrow" jeans fit compared to other brands?

>> No.7752880

>>7752875
They're supposed to be very skinny, unlike the Tight ones. Even though a lot of websites describe the Tight ones as 'skinny', they are in fact slim waist and slim legs according to CM's website. Narrow on the other hand are described as skinny waist & skinny legs and some websites even advertise them as super skinny. The Narrow ones normally run small and have a very small leg opening so consider them more on the super skinny side.

Yeah, I wrote to ask if it was a mistake and if one of those should be the OD black. Is there somewhere else to try and find the OD black ? I've tried royalcheese (they have it 'available' but in reality they don't have stock), CM online, eBay... can't find it. I live in the UK by the way.

There are these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cheap-Monday-Narrow-od-Black-/130959973079?pt=DE_Damen_Jeans&var=&hash=item1e7dd29ad7

But is there a big difference between those designated for women and those for men ? Are they the same or not ?

>> No.7752889

>>7752881
They are unisex so they're the same. How come Royalcheese don't have in stock? Weird

>> No.7752893

>>7752866
I'm wearing tight new blacks rn and they're a dark black, obviously, but are slightly faded (like a very dark grey) at the seams/crotch. If you own topman skinny jeans I'd probably compare the overdyed to them (completely black), but I kind of like the slight fading, it gives them character

>> No.7752908

>>7752889
Their message:
>Hello Thanks for your order. Due to a stock error we dont have the narrow in stock would you like the narrow new black instead? Kind Regards Royalcheese

Not sure whether to go with the new black or not. Would rather a pure black, but if the difference isn't THAT big, might consider the new black.

>>7752893
Do you have a pic of them in good lighting ? That would help a lot if you did. How do the fit compare with Topman skinny jeans by the way (I've never tried them, but /fa/ seems to speak well about them) ?

>> No.7752924

>>7752908

just get the topman spray on skinnies. their regular skinnies are probably not what u lookin for.

>> No.7752925

>>7752889
Also is it just me or do their pictures make no sense ?

http://www.royalcheese.com/men/clothes/jeans/narrow-black-over-dyed.html

http://www.royalcheese.com/men/clothes/jeans/jean-narrow-new-black.html

They look more or less the same tone of black, but not the same cut (despite both being "narrow").....

>>7752908
Yep I have the same dilemma. I own a pair of black super skinny jeans right now and I am not very fond of the grey fades around the crotch and the rivets. If you can't find the OD black anywhere I think there's a decent Spray On OD black on topman

>>7752925
The grey on the picture is slightly exaggerated from the light but is still like that

I prefer the fit of the Cheap Mondays, which fit nicer in the crotch area than the Topman ones
The Topman ones have a smaller leg opening though
Topman are probably the best in the ~£30 price range for jeans, but Cheap Monday fit better and are comfier
As you're in the UK go to Topman tomorrow and try some on

>> No.7752987

>>7752928
Yeah, I think I will go to try them.

>>7752967
Thanks. You say the grey is exaggerated in the pic, but it looks almost OD black to me... ? Are they actually the same as these:

?

Sorry, I linked to the narrow cut not tight, but I'm just referring to the colour precisely.

>>7752987
the ones at the top are topman jeans
but yeah they are the same ones, they're new black
it isn't really noticeable like it is in there though
if you have an urban outfitters near you they stock cheap monday

What's your size by the way? You may be lucky and find them on eBay in your size

>> No.7753041

>>7753017
no they're strech skinny
however they dye their black jeans the same, so the colour is universal in there

also OP size down slightly on Cheap Mondays which have elastane in, they'll strech nicer

>>7753012
>at the top
At the top of where ?
There's an UO near me, but they don't stock the narrow variety in (any) black

>>7753020
Dunno. Should be London.

>>7753021
Didn't find. But I did come across this store, they have these under the women's section but not under men's, strangely. They have in my size as well. Should I buy from there ? Anyone know about this store ?

Anyway, I decided to go with the OD black in 30/34 as I found here:

Never heard of this store, so hopefully no problems.

I have $200 to spend on clothes. Is it worth it to spend it all on acne jawns or should I go for cheap Monday and spend the rest on something else?

>> No.7754037

>>7754014
it depends on how new you are
if you're still trying to be /fa/, buy neither and get levis/topman whilst you're still acquiring some taste and save your money
if you have the basics down etc get some cheap mondays
buy acne/other jeans when you are bored of your cms/they break etc

>> No.7754058

>>7754037
I have the basics down, so I guess I'm in the second category. I'm just unsure what acne offers that cheap Monday doesn't. People seem to have different opinions as to whether the quality is any different. Most people say the you pay for the fit, but doesn't that just depend on the individual's body? I'm totally willing to pay the extra if it's worth it.

>> No.7754090

>>7754058
yeah most of it down to fit, and people's opinion on acne jeans seem to be that the quality isn't worth the price
imo cheap mondays fit quite nicely, and as for acne i can't say
i'd recommend trying them on first (if nowhere near you stocks acne order them from somewhere with free returns [i think mr porter, ssense and maybe even acne all have free returns] or ask for measurements from acne themselves, apparently they're helpful with that) and seeing which you prefer and then making the decision

Solid. Thanks.
