Speaking of this, a couple of questions:

1. Best way to get rid of dandruff?
2. Best product to style hair without making it nasty and stiff?

I was doing no poo and just putting some water in it, but that was somewhat inadequate, and now I have a bit of dandruff going on, so I feel I must use poo at least once or twice a week. I've moved to using mousse, but that doesn't really seem to work too well. My hair just eventually falls back down.

first, find out what's causing the dandruff. is it normal, healthy dandruff (small, white, dry "snowy" flakes) or is it unhealthy (greasy, large, scaly, silvery)?

if it's healthy dandruff, use head & shoulders (fuck no poo), stop letting hot water hit your scalp (warm water is okay, hot water will damage your skin), never sleep with product in, comb and wash every day, basically just be nice to your scalp, even though you can't see it. putting product in your hair and rinsing it out is not good for your scalp, there is still SO MUCH residue, even if you just used a little, and now it's clinging closer to your scalp.

if it's unhealthy, see a doctor immediately. no other option.

honestly, "nasty and stiff" hair is almost always an issue of using too much product, not using the wrong product. but different products serve different purposes.

this is true, i've been doing no poo for about three months and could easily do this with my hair if i wanted
it actually makes it sound kind of gross and well.. it is a little bit since the texture/feeling of your hair will become entirely different, but hey, it doesn't smell or look disgusting, so i don't mind
anyway no poo will only work if you have oily-ish hair, otherwise you will have to use some product and i've no idea about that
