Most comfy school shoes I had were a pair of docs in highschool - lasted way until I grew out of them.

Now, 10 years later I see my cousin's asian made ones and she just has to replace them in less than a year. My old english ones? 3 years. (by then I had crushed the heel though)

i'm not expecting them to last forever but a couple of years at least would be the least for it to be worth it over cheap vans/chucks/nikes that I usually go with. I wouldn't always be wearing them so they'd prob last over a year even if the build quality was shit.
