I'm kind of worried for the whole lunarcore thing though, don't get me wrong I really like it, I've put about £100+ down on getting a few basics at the moment and I'm ordering tons of stuff to get my lunar fits working.

I only bought my palladium's a few weeks back and I'm kind of in the same situation, I've started throwing out some money recently, put £65 on the grey palladiums and £29 on a modern MA-1 bomber jacket (used to be like $140).
I'd probably advise going for a safer option if you're cautious about them, they're quite a hard shoe to work with unless you're wearing cargos, I think.
If you're wearing black skinnes and a parka I'd recommend Nike Roshe runs, they're pretty cheap (in the same price range) and can be pulled off easily.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here and argue that you're more likely to pull off this aesthetic if you commit to it head to toe, and do it with confidence. I've seen too many fits where dude wasn't committing, trying to mix in blue jeans or some other piece that just detracted from the fit as a cohesive statement.

The distinction is, the influence of sci-fi and aerospace/industry/military should be subtle but pervasive, as in it should influence every piece you rock, but no single piece should be too costumey or too obvious.

I was more meaning that you don't need to look like you live on a moonbase to actually wear slim white cargos. I am not against experimentation, my point was that for a vast majority of people interested, they don't have the know-how/confidence to pull of a full lunarcore outfit; so instead they should be focusing on the pieces they actually like and incorporating those into every day life. I will say this as well, lunarcore is more doable that other visual extremes like gothninja. That being said, there are several fits I have seen (mainly of that one russian guy) that exemplify good lunarcore that could work in a modern society setting. There are also fits (>>7594164) that either didnt commit enough, ie. personally modifying clothes or committed too much to work, and that is how I feel most people would go about attempting these sorts of fits. Lastly, I feel that lunarcore toughest aspect that creates a barrier to entry is colour-palette, it uses A LOT of whites and grey tons that people have trouble with.

The thing is, lunarcore started out of the already decent wardrobes of people with lots of know how in terms of fashion (built off _Julius and other goth ninja stuff combined with techwear), that's why the early fits all look decent. I don't think it needs to rely on those palettes as much, personally. The silhouette is more important. Poet's latest fits are terrible because they have a more fitted silhouette. Looking at some of Knoch's pics, sometimes his colors don't match that well or they aren't made up of mostly whites and greys, but they come off as far more lunar because of the loose, military inspired silhouettes paired with large obnoxious boots. People should post more experimentation, whether it's good or bad, and critique must be provided beyond "that's shit" or "not lunar" so that we can evolve the lunar aesthetic beyond the basic stuff poet left us.

Shoes are good. Lots of straps and of course they are white. Pants are loose and tapered at the cuff, again good. But if they were grey would work better. Tee/tank in blue is a good compliment to lunar. Jacket is too tech, it should be more baggy and perhaps without a hood. But the material looks interesting.

White tank layered under a distressed, oversized gray tee is another good lunar staple. The 80's was a influential time in films for the lunarcore aesthetic so I think tight tees are out. The shoes are good, basic and nice color. The pants are a little too tight, a looser silhouette that creates more abstract size and angles would help. The color is ok, but would be better in blue with those boots. The tee seems to fitted, size up and perhaps layer underneath it. The jacket is a big problem, imo. The simple color palette works well together. I feel it suffers from the tightness of the clothes however. Oversized, comfortable and practical are more in line with the lunar ideology. Lunar is military inspired at heart and tight form fitting clothing works against most of these ideals. Exaggerated proportions are also missing from this fit. Overall a good entry though.

I think we should start using this colour palette generator, it's pretty awesome.

the fabric is noisy and has the movement of a trash bag. you literally feel and look like you're walking around in exactly that. to top it off, the print cracks and fades quickly, even if you wear it with great care which kind of defeats the point of buying something made with Tyvek.

I did. Their "guarantee" that the garment will get fucked over time is plastered all over the site and the parcel with the item you order. I thought the print would last at least a couple of uses and fade nicely, but it started cracking after the first time I wore it and cracks like acrylic would. Im guessing the lettering would get illegible and just look like dirt after a few uses, but I stopped wearing it due to the noise and general crap drape and movement of the fabric.

Not exactly lunar but I love this so much. Earlier in this thread a desert style of lunar was spoke about so it's kind of relevant, really dig the silhouette.

If you have a bulkier top would look very nicely. The tees are too simple compared to the pants and shoes IMO.

In the styles section of the sticky, next to lunarcore it says "examples of brands" followed by none, when in reality it should be like pic related.
Just saying. We all like to pretend there's no unifying brands but there really is.
