he's a fairly well known fashion designer, he makes stuff which falls commonly under 'gothninja' and is probably most known for (on here) for his geobasket shoes. He's been name dropped in quite a few 'hiphop' songs, hence his sudden popularity but he's been around for ages.

/fa/ pretends to hate gothninja/geobaskets for whatever reason but they're constantly posted and talked about, as well as seen in grail fits and the likes.

He also has beautiful hair and a perfectly ugly face and a really aesthetic build. I like him.

My argument is that Dior sells better because it's better designed and better made. Obviously sales aren't the supreme factor in determining what's /fa/ you retard, if that were the case we'd all be running around in Hollister and UO shit.

Brands have a reputation for a reason. Rick Owen's stuff is notoriously fussy to wear and the steep discounts it is frequently available at betrays its not much better than middle of the road in terms of materials and workmanship.

Sales are an objective measurement. It's pointless to argue over aesthetics because that's entirely subjective, and there's no way in hell anyone here who likes RO is going to concede that such and such design is not visually appealing.

I examine lot of different vendors and designers. I am personally an enormous fan of Lanvin, Dior, Chanel and Zilli. RO aesthetic does not appeal to me chiefly because the majority of his garments are barely functional and bedecked with gossamer fabrics that never wear well over time, and the whole concept of 'distressed' or 'beaten' luxury just doesn't strike my fancy. The materials he selects are very limited color-wise and they seem almost designed to reflect light in the flattest spectrum possible.

But this is all of course subjective, so it's pointless to argue over it.

Quality of materials is another such measurement. Man-hours to produce a piece could be a third measurement. But there are other factors. Some vendors have lazy craftsman, for example.

There's very little concrete ground to stand on when you start trying to assert that one designer is better than another. Reputation among other designers would be a good place to start.
