They're an odd mix -- the work boot styling and the Chelsea elastic are too much here I think. They make the shoe look busy and confused. I don't particularly like them.

That said, if you like them, go ahead and cop.

I personally like Timberland for working in the snow and dirt and their 6-inch boots aren't bad looking for casual wear.

i don't know to word this b/c i'm a boot pleb but are the shoe sizes absolute? i think i'm gunna try to find a store to try them on anyway i don't want to order something that doesn't fit

But the elastic on Chelseas is definitely utilitarian, makes it easy to slip on and off, and would make sense for work shoes

This.

It's like the boot equivalent of wearing both braces/suspenders and a belt, making you look like some kind of retard.

You're correct, and elastic is fairly common on work boots. Australian work boots are pretty much always constructed with the elastic in place of laces, but can't speak to how common that style of work boot is outside Australia.

What I'm taking to task here is the combination of both elastic AND laces -- which makes the boot seem overdone.

I am inclined to agree with you. This hodgepodge styling makes it look messy to me.

But, like, that's just my opinion, man. If you really like em that much OP then get them.

Personally I say no for sentiments similar to others above, but i guess the shape is nice, and, really, no one is gonna notice the elastic unless you cuff or wear shorts.
The elastic part will at least make it easier to pull on and off - no reason to screw with the laces.

Question on build quality though, how much are they and where are they made? The link fucks up for me.
