It's bullshit on most levels, but people are primed to look at your accessories more than anything when reading you. Very much so with the small leather good you tote your money around in, that's traditionally one of the few places men are allowed to be flamboyant.

Personally, I've never been able to fuck with wallets for some reason – they always feel like some strange and senseless barrier. I just use my right hand pants or jacket pocket bare, and carry as little as I need, at most Metrocard, debit card, a few bills, and my passport. Reach in, pull out. But I wish I liked wallets; they can be very beautiful and expressive.

I've had this one for ages, it's awesome. Simplistic, minimal and thin.

I bought a pretty dope hand made wallet at a craft show. It's oxblood lookin' leather on the outside and when you open it theres a floral pattern.

That's not how luxury items work. I have a friend who bought a $300 keyring. Paying that kind of price for a piece of ostrich leather the size of a thumb instead of getting a plain $20 one sounds crazy at first, but if the guy has enough money he may find that amount for such a difference justified. I use the same wallet I've been using for 4 years and someone was using it before I got it so god knows how old it is. It's completely plain black leather and has a 3 way fold. Not a single logo or design or tag anywhere on it. There's really no way of me finding out who made it. I plan on using it as long as possible. It's all beat up and I think it gives it quite a bit of character

This wallet has gone through so much, I can barely believe its still functional. It's gone through the wash at least twice, it's been run over with a car, it's been dropped over a hundred times, it's got little flecks of two year old paint on it- some are finally starting to come off- and to top it all off, its been pissed upon.

It's a sign from god that I'm meant to keep using the wallet, I think.

This is how my current wallet is. I use each of the slots for specific things (there are eight), the flap opening for my passport, the coin bit for transit tokens/coins and each of the three sections for bills, foreign currency and receipts

Been using a cheap "rip curl" brand wallet for 15 years or so. But lately I've been eyeing this Bellroy note sleeve. I'm kind of in love with it so I'm gonna get it regardless of whether I think the price (70 eurobucks + shipping) is worth it.
