I do mine tightly so I don't slip out of my shoe on accident when someone steps on my ankle.

>> No.7301063

>7300971
Not too tightly. If you break one, you are completely out of luck, i dont know of any replacements that match the color.

You can get close or use leather cord, but it never looks as good.

Clarks do send you a pair of laces if they break and they have them in stock.

I bought beeswax 2 years ago when they didn't sell them in the UK yet and I emailed Clarks UK about replacement laces and they offered to send me sand coloured laces which was the closest they could find to the beeswax ones. They sent me them but they mismatched too much so I ended up just buying a pair from ebay which match pretty good.

Here's the email they sent me:

Dear Mr [anon]

Thank you for taking the time to email us about sourcing replacement laces for your Desert Boot Beeswax laces.

Unfortunately we do not have exact replacement laces for our footwear for sale. we do however keep at small supply of Desert Boot laces at head office which we are happy to send out with our compliments. We do not have the beeswax colour but we do have sand coloured laces which may be suitable.

If you would like us to send you a replacement pair of sand Desert Boot laces with our compliments please supply your address details.

Thank you again for taking the time to email us. I do hope you'll continue to buy our shoes and enjoy wearing them.

Yours sincerely

Who knows the best method of breaking in boots? Just bought my first pair and I like them and all, but they rub against my ankles quite a bit and in some places the leather is quite stiff and won't give. I've read a bunch of different suggestions ranging from soaking them in water (and then wearing) to putting rubbing alcohol on the really stiff places. I'm worried those would affect the leather quality. Thanks for your help.

Oh, and what is best for leather treatment? I don't want anything that will make them darker either.

If you can't break in Malis, then you're not fit for boots. Holy fuck. The leather is soft as butter.

I'd hate to see you in a pair of new Wolverines or Iron Rangers. You'd need like a thousand bandaids for your boo boo feet.
