I just started nopoo. I'm five days in and my hair still looks pasable+doesn't smell at all. Will try the apple cider and baking soda stuff tomorrow.

I used Axe pomade for awhile and liked it, but wanted to move onto something a little better. decided to go with American Crew.
It isn't as good as Axe surprisingly. My hair looks and feels really greasy after using the AC but with the Axe it dries completely and looks more natural and stays soft while staying in place.
I'd still like to look for something else cause I feel like a 15 year old tool bag using Axe.
Any recommendations?

Equal parts regular Murrary's and matte-black Murray's mixed together. When it's hotter out it makes my hair a little darker when the sun usually makes it lighter, which is also cool.

Nopoo's not for you, then. You know how some dudes will always look stupid in a Hitler Youth or a manbun or dick dunks or other /fa/ uniform things? Nopoo doesn't work for some dudes. What I usually do is put in a little hair gloop after one shower and shampoo, skip the poo next shower, then poo the one after that to get the stuff out and start the process over. Never gotten dandruff or greasy hair from it.

I use the Gritty Business, it's pretty good. It gives quite a soft finish, but lasts. I can wake up the morning after and style my hair again if I have to.

i use nightrider and absolutely love it. its comparable to mud by sebastian but I think nightrider has better hold. i have longer hair on top (bangs down to my chin) so I dont use it on the top because it leaves it too heavy and greasy. for the sides tho its perfect to get the slick back matte look, a lot better than hairspray + heat. still one of my favorite products willbuyagain/10

How do you people make your hair get those individual strands (not sure if I'm using right word).
I mean, I get them when I don't wash my hair for some time, but they get really greasy that way. After washing my hair looks like a fucking pillow.

Should I use some specialistic shampoo or conditioner? I use normal shampoo for men.

I've had some of this sitting on my bathroom counter for about a year and a half.

I should really try it out again, but I don't feel its texture lends itself to longer hair.

Right now I use gatsby ultra hard styling wax. It's more of a thick cream than a wax; it works really nicely.

obviously you have to condition your hair to get used to no poo (condition as in help to learn, not hair conditioner) by increasing and increasing the time between washing your hair with shampoo

after a while your hair gets to the point where its never greasy, but retains its natural oils making it healthy and soft looking as fuck. wash hair with cold - lukewarm water to keep dry scalp away.

i use murray's pomade and it doesn't hold as it is supposed to, or my hair is shit. Are there any stronger heavier pomades to buy out there

What kind of product is this guy using? Is this achievable with slightly jewy wavy hair?

I use Grants Pomade. It has a strong hold and can easily be combed through/readjusted throughout the day. Nothing but positive reviews from it. About $20 per can, smells great too.

I've been fucking with the Imperial Barber products, first with their fiber pomade and then with the gel pomade.

The fiber has a nice smell and good hold, not super strong but it's no slouch, so you can play with it and fuck with it as you like.

The gel pomade smells EXACTLY like mango rubinoff for all you college kids fuckin with the struggle vodka. it's got a stiffer, crunchier hold if you let it set and don't fuck with it which is good if you're going for a sleek look. At first this bothered me, but then i realized after running the fingers through a few time it loosens up in a really nice way and I like it a lot now.

The fiber pomade washed out quite thoroughly and was great for no poo because there was a little residual product left over and it never made my hair look gross.
The gel, however, does not wash out very well which means I've had to wash with shampoo every once in a while, which is a bummer.

Now, with that as a segue, does anyone have any good suggestions for a good shampoo on the more natural side?

Hemp Oil Shampoo and Conditioner and an anti frizz gel.

I've been no pooing for about 3 months, haven't pooed once and I haven't any of that baking soda bullshit either. You just have to power through the first few days and it's fine. Don't need to use products now really as my grease levels are so on point. I have super thick hair and it seems to work well with that.

Got2Be and then Osis+

I lett my hair dry a little before i apply Got2Be, then i take a small portion of the wax about the size of a nail, and start from the top and move forward and a little on the sides.

then i dry it with a hairdryer for extreme hold, and then apply some Osis+ to make it hold the rest of the night.

Considering i have hair aprox 6-7-8-9 cm in lenght, im very pleased with these products. It looks natural and stays like you shape it.

I've yet to find anything else that even somewhat works for my hair.

As a young / student / poor type I spent years knocking around with your usual supermarket shelf crap.

Recently, invested in some American Crew stuff - great, but for my hair type and what I wanted, not perfect.

For myself, I've found this stuff to be absolutely spot on. Pricier, but I certainly feel like it was a worthwhile investment and that I got what I paid a bit more for.

yeah but you dont just stop using shampoo and continue the same routine. if you go no poo, you gotta rinse and scrub with hot water erryday and really make sure you're cleaning it. plus you gotta condition religiously. Its better for most people to just use organic shampoo no SLS like once every 2-4 days + condition and rinse every day
