If you're buying expensive shoes to get recognition from others you're doing it wrong anyway. It's about the quality and construction and how it feels. Dressing for others is the first mistake. The $300 should feel and look better while lasting longer. If it doesn't then oh well, I lost some cash, not the worst thing to happen and I've learned a personal lesson that for beanies cost isn't indicative of quality. But I'd at least like to say I've tried or at least hear someone with experience in these particular products share their experiences so I can at least make a more informed decision.
