I won't argue about the shirt fit but I think /fit/ people should wear straighter cut jeans with only slight taper, like 501s or 514s for example. I'm /fit/ myself with big thighs too.

Oh cool, my thread is still alive. Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I wear mostly band shirts. I think some of them complement my body nicely but for the most part I'd be better off with keeping it simple. As far as pants go, I'll look into getting pod shorts as I think that's a cool look, and I'll play around with jean sizes. I think my 514's look nice, but I'll try on other versions next time I go shopping since there doesn't seem to be a consensus here.

those pants just have a low crotch, his tops are long, and the lens/mirror/angle exaggerate all of that

I didn't realize that pod shorts would be over $200. I think I'll go for a similar look with something way cheaper.
