Lady Gaga's fans are the worst, I know some and they'll do literally anything to defend her

Her styles are pretty varied and she's kind of all over the place, so it's kind of hard to generalize. A lot of the garments she wears are things that were already iconic among the fashion world (I think she recently wore one of Gareth Pugh's dresses from his first collection, she wore some of the more well known Galliano for Dior dresses in a recent vid...)

i think it's "neat" that celebrities can give couture fashion a wider audience (e.g. by wearing it and getting published in People Stylewatch or FMZ), but also I think it introduces a group of people to high fashion when they might not be onterested otherwise. In a way that makes the way we consume media interesting and dynamic. In another it creates a generation of passionless drones who know tiny bits about everything but specialize in nothing. I think people mistake Gaga's style. It is highly calculated, well-curated and meant to evoke a certain image. Fans who go to her shows in cardboard imitations of her custom-made fibreglass pieces over an H&M dress (when Gaga wore Gaultier) just don't get it. Her wardrobe is part of a persona that creates a divide between the average teeny-bopper and a performer. In a sense she embraces fame by glamorizing it and making it inaccessible - the basis of celebrity itself.

But anyways, OP. The way she dressea is supposed to be her style as a performer. She is, above all, a performance artist. The way she is everytime we see her is simply a petformance and not what she actually is which, paradoxically, is who she is.

What she puts on isnt meant to be some sort of trend she is deliberately trying to kick start. Now whether or nlt it does end up starting is not under her control.

She is quite lovely, though.
