How bad's your acne OP? Mine was terrible when I was a teenager so I went on a course of Roaccutane but pussed out of it. I went on a second course about six or seven years ago and saw it through. Now I very rarely get a pimple on my face, neck, back, chest etc. I still, however, get pimples on my scalp that keep me from getting very short cuts because I want to hide that shit.

Anyway, not saying you'll have to go to the Roaccutane extreme but it's something to consider. Have you spoken to a dermatologist?

Would probably say the 2nd picture on a good day, 1st on a bad. I haven't, should I?

If it's that bad and you're finding that nothing you try works, then yeah, definitely.

Cover your face with 5% benzoyl peroxide wash
Let sit for 5 minutes
Wash off

Do this every day. Your skin will be 90% better within a month. If you don't stick with it then don't bitch about it not working. I took accutane and still had some moderate acne, benzoyl peroxide was the final nail in the coffin that #rekt that shit for good.

Thanks, I'll buy some benzoyl peroxide and if that doesn't work after a month I'll go to a derma. The stuff that I use at the moment just doesn't cut it I guess

Isotretinoin

>skin gets dried out and flawlessly new born
>down side during therapie: 95% dried out lips, 80% dry eyes, 5% depression, 2% suicidal, substandard risk of lifer and gastrointestinal issues, may cause huge hair growth or loss

>> No.7217040

I was fortunate enough to never really get acne growing up. The worst I ever get is maybe one pimple around my chin or on my temple. So, does any of this anti-acne shit even work? I kind of just assumed it was all a bunch of baloney like hair regrowth or something.

go to the doctor and tell them that you've tried all the over the counter products and nothing seems to work. i had acne for, like, a year and then they gave me some pills and a prescription cream and the bulk of it cleared up in less than two weeks and by the end of the course my skin was pretty much perfect. just do it seriously. and because i live in a first world country i didn't have to pay a penny for any of it

who gives a fuck what they're called? they are designed to reduce redness. i have used both. it's like a $5 prescription if you have insurance, but w/e.

>people actually thinking they should DIY to save a few bux

Dermatologists can save your skin. It's worth the cost because undergoing a particular treatment might make your skin worse in the end (if practised without professional help) and a derm can mitigate that with their expertise and knowledge. Just because it's your skin and there's Clearsil in the drugstore and you read a few online articles, does not mean it's right for you.

Intensive acne treatments and prescriptions always come with side effects. TRUST YOUR DERM AND FOLLOW THEIR ADVICE TO A T.

Source: Suffered with acne and tried to diy with tretinoin/glycolic acid/benzoyl peroxide and now have a beard of discolouration that'll take 3k in intensive light therapy to clear up. Learn from my mistakes.

Due to my shit insurance a visit to the dermatologist will cost me roughly the equivalent of four excellent facials. I have sensitive skin and mild acne, maybe the second-to-last set of photos in OP's pic. If you were me, would you pick the derm or the facials?

I had Isotretinoin treatment. Hell it really does dry your lips..

The treatmend ended, it worked well, but I have noticed a little bit of depression, i'm getting sometimes sad thoughts.. I feel my mind is not the same it use to be before the treatment.

Does that go away in some point?

Or atleast I think that is because of the medicine, it could be also because of the dark and wet autumn we have here in Northern Europe.
