My hair is greasy as fuck if I do not wash it everyday. Will no poo help this? Should I only start washing it every 2-3 days using shampoo?

Bumping with inspo

Was your hair greasy as a result of that or did that prevent your hair from getting greasy?

some more info:
they sell this EXACT patch at a Surplus store in SF. its probably 30% smaller than the actual one. You could always just throw it on a black varsity

(was actually thinking about throwing it on like 2-3 more jackets )

Yeah the patch is what really sells it for me. That is actually a pretty good idea because I am not half bad with a needle and it would not look half bad.

How do I "wash it with oatmeal" ? Do you mean instead of shampoo just rub oatmeal over my head? Is there a special oatmeal shampoo?

>> No.7206066

>>7206052
Lots of dog shampoo has oatmeal. Not sure it's recommended but it could not hurt.

And by " please explain what you mean when you say it works for you" I really meant to say could you please answer my previous question. Do you just rub oatmeal in your hair or do you use oatmeal shampoo?

speaking as someone that used to grease up with murrays on a daily basis, there is virtually nothing you can do to get that stuff out.

option 1 is use a clarifying shampoo when its too greasy. its not good for your hair normally but youve got it covered in grease so youre ok.

option 2 is you hit a sort of equilibrium. I found that my hair styled better a day or two after I put fresh grease in (after not greasing for a few days). inwould wash my hair everyday, but only need to add a little grease maybe every other day.

option 3 is find a water based pomade like hawleywoods which holds and shines like petrolatum but washes out 100%.

my barber makes his own, its called swichblade pomade, the brand is knucklehead, his name is tom castiglia. he is out of ny/austin/orlando. he has not made any but see if you can find him and he can let you know when he makes a batch. its wicked stuff and smells amaaazinggg. hawleywoods is a good second, with a vanilla scent.

one way or another you have to commit to it, just wash your hair everyday and youll get to a point where it works without being too greasy.

As my hair gets longer it gets greasier faster, usually within 2-3 days. So I smear some oaths (as in oathmeal you eat, its also better to cook it, but i cant be bothered) in my hair rub around, what it does is absorb a larger amount of the grease, slowing down the proces. Whichs allows me to add in some conditioner afterwards. But ya, i have quite thin hairfollicels, but lots of them, so it may or may not work for you.

use baking soda in your hair once a week (or twice if it's really terrible) and slowly wean yourself off using as much as possible

>> No.7207102

>>7207096
*using it as much as you can

that is, ideally transition to using it only once or twice a month

it depends on your hair and scalp though, you might not be able to do that
