>Our knit originates from the silk gland of a spider, carefully placed in the milk duct of a goat. The single filament is reeled out of the goat millimetres at a time to produce the most difficult to obtain fibre in the world. Having secured 2 skeins of the silk, each many thousands of metres long, we spent 4 days unraveling it to prepare for knitting. A further week was spent gently coaxing two filaments into the knotted web of these garments... And then another week convincing it to become the emperor's new clothing.

damn it was milk duct

really well thanks, its an excellent experience. The students are definitely pushed into a certain direction, and yeah its forcing me to study color much more than i did in the past. Yeah it is different than what I like, but im ok with that, its good to have a range, and using color is something that is necessary to master if you want to work as a designer...the teachers respond fairly well to my work, they have no issues with students who like to work in black and white actually, you just have to be able to use/control color well if you want to. but really i get along with the pattern cutting instructor the best.

haha thanks we will see, this school tends to break many people depending on their background, but realistically out of the 40-50 that begin, only 15 or so finish the BA, and maybe 7-12 finish a masters each year. All i can do is push myself as much as possible and hope for the best

but the thing is im also competing against 29 year olds with 2 art degrees and people who apprenticed as tailors since 13 and worked at lv and dior in paris for years.

nope not at all

>it's a bachelor's program right?

yes but they dont accept anyone who applies directly to masters, you have to get a BA here to do a masters.

>seems like you would have a huge advantage over your peers

in some respects yes, i have a balance of skills, some pattern making, some drawing. there are people here who already have a shit ton of experience though, who are much older than me. Its a weird kind of program, its not like a regular BA program that everyone goes right from high school, the school kind of destroys kids who try and do this.

I'm actually 100% convinced that you're just trolling now. I refuse to believe that a human being can be this fucking stupid, I am speechless.

I'm actually pretty sure you understand my points, but you have some type of personality disorder or insecurity complex that subconsciously makes you deny any if not all points that someone else makes that proves you wrong.

Do I really need to explain this to you word by word when I've explained it already?

Please read:

>huuurrrrrr his xact wordz wure "you can't buy it" which strictly only means word by word that anon is unable to purchase the item and i'm too fucking retarded to have any common sense to draw any other obvious implications of his comment, no i must only read and take it in as it is written word by word

Handicap anon, "you can't buy it" in this case implies that "it's difficult for one to obtain this item", and should not be taken word by word as a definitive fact that nobody in the world is able to obtain this item. Real human beings with brains can usually comprehend alternate meanings in sentences, people who can only comprehend writing word by word as it is written lack a fundamental part of human interaction and probably should be in asylums.

Can someone tell me what, if any, is the functional purpose of this ribbing you see on pants a lot?

It looks cool as hell, but it's also usually on functional garments or garments modeled on functional ones, so I assume it does something.

It's protection on real motorcycle pants, they're padded and designed around the shape of the knee seated on the bike. When adapted to leather for the "biker"look and subsequently to denim iterations the influence becomes fairly detached.
