well theyre basically on their last leg so ima buy canvas white ones soon enough so i thought I'd be experimental and see the best way to do it.

>>7179627

>>7179654

yeah, OP. the cracks in the white paint are supposed to reveal colors other than white. What would be the point otherwise?

>white paint
>white cracks
>no changes in colour

Cos the paint looks mad as, that's why. My pair are beginning to crack but I'm tempted to repaint it again for the clean look.

theyre nearly brown from so much wear, as i said, I'm just doin this out of experimentation and because i would think /fa/ would really like to see how it would wear in because it's a pretty hot topic, least from what ive seen. it will reveal a difference from cracking, the white from the paint compared to the current color of my shoes, is very different.

i think finishing paint? its been put away now, but it was pure white and meant for ya know, like walls and shit

>> No.7179767

did you paint it on by hand, or dip them with something inside to keep paint out of the interior?

>> No.7179769

there was a thread on this a few weeks back and said the best way to go about this was watering down gesso and applying like 3 layers. all the finished products looked p nice

You should've used rubber paint, like Plasti-Dip. This is a cheap DIY approach to drips. Check out:

This makes a layer of rubber--the very same kind used in tool handles. You should try this out with another pair. I'm making my own black drips.

i used a small paint brush to apply the paint, and used the corner of it to get the small places that ive missed, and used a stick to puke through the eye lets when paint clogged those up.

>> No.7179839

>>7179785
alright thank you, trying this right now.
what did you use to make yourself puke?

poke* haha, i used a stick to make sure the eyelets were not enclosed with paint.

Should I plasti dip these and do some patchwork on the suede?

I need to find some good patches with some graphics on them. I could also make stencils.

should have used acrylic mixed with matte finish or something- in ur op pic it looks like you used house paint which will most likely have a glossy finish

>>7179778
plastidip isn't really the right thing for drips, you need liquid rubber or something.
