This really isn't talked about enough - how much the Internet has raised the bar on what constitutes a good fit, and how far out the average person's outfit has been pushed.

It might've stayed decidedly subcultural - stuck to forum posters and personal style bloggers engaged in games of competitive expressiveness - if it wasn't for street style photographers becoming a thing and taking a constant, kingmaking gaze out into the habitats of the existing fashion elite.

And then there's, yeah, Kanye, and a few other rappers. The rap fashion game turned around just like the rap sound and the rap concerns games turned around. Rappers weren't just flaunting bought proximity to traditional status and liquidity, but taste and exclusiveness and inventiveness. That spread it out even further, made people in malls in Idaho aware of Bape, Undercover, Margiela. But
