I spoke to a cobbler about leathers and he said that genuine leather is poor quality. Schott uses genuine leather, not full grain. Full grain is where it's at if you want quality leather goods.

Leather jackets are autistic. They just look awful. Leather jackets are pretty much costume wear. Bandido isn't right in any way shape or form, but take his stance into consideration. Basically, a leather jacket is rather hard to pull off, especially if it has too many unnecessary details, or if you're not that good looking.
Just do what I did, I took my time and waited until something really sweet popped up, I was at a fashion show in Milan last spring and copped a goat-leather designer bomber-ish leather jacket with fantastic quality, I'm not saying I'm a fashion expert but it is a really nice jacket.
My point is don't just go out and look for a "leather jacket", pick carefully, because otherwise you might end up looking like the people in Bandido's posts, there are some really ugly leather jackets out there.

There was once a thread on here.. many years ago now that had a bunch of high-fashion level leather jackets. Not entirely classical designs, but not ridiculously haute-cuture / silly runway stuff. Actually wearable stuff... the name started with something like... Ba? B?
