when i was younger i'd go to as many shows as i could, and 9/10 times i was alone.

it wasn't even because i didn't have friends, but my friends weren't interested in music like me.
that's really all you have to say if someone asks you about it, or "yea they bailed"
whatever.

but the best is to just say "i just came to check it out"
it's really easy to meet girls, and plus a lot of times smaller bands have good hand made merch.

I do that sometimes. I've been going to shows in the local scene since I was pretty young, so I can usually find someone there to chat up. The problem is a lot of the bigger bands that I have to travel to see, like I want to see my bloody valentine in St. Paul in a couple of weeks and probably won't be able to get anyone to come with.
