Are you sold on Docs? If you're considering the Nero, that makes me think you're just looking for a relatively well-made but inexpensive rugged boot. IMO, Docs other than 1460s and their spinoffs are like converse shoes other than Chuck Taylors. The brand is iconic for a specific, contemporary style so it just comes off as awkward to deviate from it.

Not that guy but they definitely are not. However according to /fa/ larger, bulky foot wear is inherintly bad and slim/streamlined is always desirable, without having to explain anything further.

I personally love sturdy, big ass boots with I can plow through slush in winter time. It's also a stylistic choice, heftier outfits just look good with bulky & sturdy leather boots. I have light, slim stuff for other stuff which I wear just as much.
