With a traditional cut field jacket yes.
However, Spiewak isn't made to military specs (I believe) and the measurements for the small I ordered list the chest size at 36 inches. I ordered mine from Sundance catalog (160 bucks after shipping)
They only have black though. I Hunted everywhere for other colors other than black but I couldn't find any as cheap as the black. SO I went with it.

Im 5'7" and the best fitting clothes are the ones I get from Japan, since the average height for guys there is about 5'6". Uniqulo stuff from Japan fits like a glove and I can walk into any store and easily find stuff that fits.

-get everything tailored
-try every brand you can find to get those rare items which are suitable (i.e. really cropped jacket)
-don't be afraid of kids sizes, especially Levis Boys Skinny jawnz
-shrink wool/cotton in the wash/dry

I'm 6ft and 170lb, I got a large, I usually wear large or XL. I like the sleeves to come halfway down my hands and I live in Michigan so I will have to layer for the brutal winters anyway.

Finding a good fitting t-shirt of all things felt impossible until i stumbled on some of the vintage repro japanese brands. Pants/jeans always looked weird on me until I found out my proportions gave me the benefit to have a high inseam which worked wonders. Jackets were never an issue since my frame could let them drape nicely, just couldn't get them too long. I also found it was helpful to be good with a needle and thread/sewing machine to self tailor your shit. It's not that bad being a manlet, just have to figure out how to compliment your proportions with the right silhouette.

IMO you should only start giving up the effay lifestyle regarding shortness is if you also have a large head/face. Exceptions could be if you can pull of the adorable manboy, other than that you're left with Dwarfmode.
