Hey /fa/ I need a 'walk 1 mile in the rain to class' fit. My parking garage is a little over a mile away from my classes and I spend up to 12 hours at school sometimes, so I would like to be dry. I took an umbrella today and still got soaked, its pretty unavoidable. If I could get some recs for a reasonable outfit:

I don't know of any backpacks that are waterproof so I would just use the spray. and if you want boots to be waterproof they should be rubber, which is ugly. don't get those duck boots. I would honestly just wear something like flyknits that would dry quick.

In terms of a jacket, check out Goretex jackets by White Mountaineering, Visvim, Arc'teryx Veilance and Nanamica. I have a goretex parka from White Mountaineering and I adore it, though it's best to check out what you like and choose for yourself.
For pants, I'd recommend Arc'teryx Veilance, specifically the Voronoi, but you could check out Acronym as well. Outlier might be a more reasonably priced option.
In terms of footwear, just get yourself a pair of welted leather boots with a commando or vibram sole - definitely not a leather sole. Or, if you want something a bit less formal, check out Nike's ACG range, or check out these.

On rainy days, I get away with my White Mountaineering parka and whatever shirt and trousers, and a pair of older Nike woven footscape chukkas or Visvim Patrician Mids, but that's just me personally.

But a waterproof goretex rain jacket is a real investment that will serve you far better than a "weatherproof" 60/40 parka that will take on water after about 2 minutes of heavy downpour. It's the worst thing in the world while hiking, let me tell you that.

I think it's great, would even like to find a way to install it on some of my tech jackets.
it doesn't need to go all the way around but it extends the design used in the cuffs for a uniform look. change the waist, you'd have to change the cuff as well.
