She's produced Anglomania men's pieces in collaboration with Lee, before, but those are always marked on the tag as such. Perhaps you were just in a shop with idiot buyers/merchandisers.

As far as the Anglomania quality itself, it's all produced in Italy and isn't awful. It's made to be much more wearable and easily styled than the mainline Gold Label or MAN stuff.

I think there's a pretty big difference between a randomly branded tee and a sweatshirt with an embroidery applique, quilting, and extension cut-and-sew work. Not saying you should wear it, but exercising a critical eye and being able to see outside of your own taste can get you very far.
