I'm thinking black laces with black shorts for a semi-formal summer outfit. Light shirt to match.
Or white laces, white socks, blue shorts white/yellow tee for a more casual outfit.
Also, white chinos rolled up with no socks, and a nice shirt (maybe tie) for a more formal look.
