What are some /fa/ headphones or earbuds?

Depends on the outfit, honestly. Most headphones are decently bulky and wont look right with a lot of outfits. I have a pair of ATH-M50s, and they look good as hell, just not with most of the stuff i wear. Unless youre going to base your outfit around your headphones, youll probably want a slimmer pair, either that of earphones.

I love my headphones to death. Amazing sound, really durable, comfy, everything you could ever want. However, i dont like wearing them in public very much. I would invest in a pair of portable, light-weight headphones if i wear you, as they dont look too bad, and have better sound quality than earphones...in my opinion.

Etymotic ER-4S or P with the S cable. Cop whichever one you can get cheaper. Used is fine. There's not anything better (for better = accurate, detailed, etc.) until you get close to $1k.

over ear headphones are always gonna have a goofy silhouette. buy legitimately good ones for use at home.

people seem to forget (or not realise) that in ear monitor's (IEMS) exist. most have great sound quality, are noise cancelling, and are visible only by their cords. check out head-fi for IEM reviews and see which one would be best for your price-range

>>6827904
/mu/tant here, they're not too great. Sound quality is about on par with Koss Portapros so if youre looking for some public-okay headphones they'll work, but do realize you're paying a lot more than what you're getting because of the hype/Urban-Outfitters-ness.

If you're gonna spend the money for those, may as well spend a bit more and get some Grados or something

well... out of those the audiotechnicas, i got complimented on them all the time at uni. That and they're VERY durable; I've had them for years and they've been through sweat, snow, rain, you name it and still work like they're new.

I've heard good stuff about grados and beyers but couldn't tell you personally.

When it comes to cans /fa/ = quality; and honestly for the price you can't be HiFiman 500s. They're simply the best for cost and if properly powered (you will need a amplifier) will come close to even 2k headphones.

oh right and i used the technicas as my "beat em up rough em up don't really give a fuck" headphones; typically you don't wear cans around unless you get those inexpensive ones like in the OP.

Which again then I would recommend the technicas cause they're durable as fuck, only thing is they lack bass.

you know it. Currently I am using a Carat Topez from audio style which is a very solid dac amp combo (comparable to the dac magic plus from cambridge audio) for around 400 bucks. Plan on dropping a grand on audio stuff around christmas, most likely a MOON Dac, Edwards audio amp and a sub of some kind

i got Beyerdynamic DT-770s (80 ohm) about 18 months ago and its a purchase that i'll never regret. need an amp or dac to bring the best out of them but still sound good from a laptop or phone

i've used ath-m50s, bose QC15s, and to a lesser extent some ad700s, they were all nice too

with audio i feel like once you hit a certain price point it becomes very preferential; you cant quanitify the quality of sound, its a subjective thing. to anyone reading who's in the market, without the chance to listen to a range of headphones, i'd reccomend m50s - they are easy to drive and sound very punchy and clean.
