With ties, lighter color shirts are best. This allows the shirt to contrast with the pants, jacket, and tie.

My rule of thumb is dark pants, light shirts, dark jackets. In everything from casual to formal wear.

Dark Indigo works well with off set colors or earth tones. White sneakers or earth tone rugged boots. Black denim is versatile, but I think it looks best with some white shoes or white with black. Unless you want to throw on some colorful running shoes or sneakers with them it can look great.

What's the quality like on All Saints cardigans? I tried one on in store the other day and it looked pretty nice with a white shirt but it was pretty damn thin and cost a load. Does it hold up decently over time?
