If you libtards would just let us frack the shale we sit on we have more oil/natural gas in california than the entirety of saudi arabia. or drill in alaska / offshore. I wasn't referring to Morsi being thrown out I was talking about Mubarak I saw the cables leak about us training pro Mubarak protesters (thugs) and it made me wonder. But my main point was that most things around the world that have "gone to shit" we had a fairly large hand in for the benefit of ourselves of course but we had a hand in it nonetheless. Not if it's done properly and if pipelines are maintained and properly held to standard. Of course this will never happen perfectly as with anything people cut corners to make money in everything from building construction to airliners. The water is supposed to be deposited back into vacant wells that are far below ground level water aqueducts. Of course spills happen and these get into ground water, but they are not the norm and it's the price you pay for being energy independent for the time being; until alternative energy is actually viable.

We are going to widescale frack shale in America eventually, believe that. We can't sustain our meddling in the middle east. South Dakotas economy is like a mini Dubai. People are getting paid $20/hr 60/hr a week to work at walmart.

because they are expensive. natural gas is cheap. and wind is unreliable and solar isn't refined enough yet. Even just a 10-15 year shift from the middle east to our own natural gas would be beneficial until solar infrastructure is better. the largest american solar array makes 100mw, the largest coal/natural gas plants quintuple that. solar turbines are the future, but we really need to get the fuck out of the middle east asap
