Hey guys. How much do doc marten's break in? I just got a pair of us7's and they're pretty damn tight. I know they'll break in bit how much?

>> No.6690286

Not by much. No shoe "breaks in" to any significant degree.

>> No.6690319

>>6690286
Bullshit. It depends on the leather. Some leather softens. Other leather is already soft.

>> No.6690338

Are you buying White Anglo Saxon master race made or gook made?

Anglo made is high quality, good leather. Breaks in a little bit, mostly just becomes more comfortable.

Vietnamese made shit doesn't break in any more than your Nikes do.

>english version has good leather
Lies. It may be full grain and vintage-spec, but docs never had nice leather in the first place. Not even 70 years ago

Did I say you could wear shoes that don't fit? I didn't.

I said some leather breaks in. It softens and stretches.

>No shoe "breaks in" to any significant degree.
is a goddamn lie.

Now fuck off.

i don't think you understand what the word "significant" means why don't you fuck on back to your mom's basement?

no way to know, it depends on how tight your foot fits in the shoe, and it also depends on the specific leather that was used in fabricating it. the leather varies wildly in terms of how much it will soften, and since its so random, you cant really anticipate something like that. each cow is a little bit different.

It has more to do with the tanning process and the thickness of the leather.

General rule of thumb: leather that is already soft won't get softer.

Leather that is hard will sometimes get soft.

No, good leather shoes come from Italiy, or the U.S., depending on what kind of shoe/boot.

But the leather on the English docs are definitely more than $80 better. Which is the price difference iirc.

>> No.6690655

>>6690641

yep. it depends on lots of things, thats why you just have to wear the shoes and find out.

Officially ethered by Demigod Dan.

>> No.6691530

The "for life" ones are much comfier I think, I tried some on in the shop and they were the comfiest shoes I've ever had.
I remember trying the normal ones a few years back in the same size and my feet were tight as hell, it hurt to walk in them.

>> No.6691562

protip: docs are for girls

>> No.6694083

I find they break in quite a lot. I recently bought my first pair, and for the first month or so I could barely walk in them, to the point where they were bruising the tops of my feet. The more you wear them, the more comfortable they get. No pain, no gain.
