is there any reliable way to change the color of a black, rubber sole? it's alright if i have to make touch-ups, but i just don't want the surface to get uneven from flaking and new coats of paint or whatever over time

i'm preparing to cop a pair of cargos, and it seems that rick doesn't make any with the cream sole in 35-39, so i'm going to have to settle for the black sole or find a way to change it myself

Nothing short of resoling and even that doesn't sound reliable since you have to replace the outer part and not just the bottom. Even if the rubber takes the paint well the stitching is black..just sounds like a huge mess that could lead to ruining a great pair of shoes.

Not on hand but the only ones I have seen didn't have the entire sole replaced anyway. Also fun fact: black rubber is actually more durable than white rubber.

do you remember where you saw them? i talked to 2 people that work at the NY store today, and they said that they don't think they're manufactured with the cream sole and to call other boutiques just in case, but i've had no luck so far
