what is the most acceptable (or 'best') version of the Nike Free Run?

I have an ankle injury at the moment - any tight, restrictive shoe is hard to walk in. I ruined the only pair of Frees I have yesterday and as such have to try and get a new pair tomorrow.

Is pic related the best?

innevas are probably the best version, but you're not going to find any
ever

but those don't look -too- disgusting, OP, I'd cop if that was the best you could get local.

Very minimal branding for a Nike, too.

not sure compared to the +5's but they felt a little shorter and wider compared to my flyknit racers, which was better on my feet. probably the widest nikes i've worn

I actually run in mine, so I sized up by .5 from the 12 I usually wear. When you've been biking, running or walking for a while your feet can swell up a bit. I've found that a bit of room can sometimes save the day when it comes to blisters. With this in mind, I try to shop for shoes at the end of the day.
I wear an 11.5 in SLVR, a 12 in Supras, a 45 in Geos and 12 in a few other things.

With an injury none of us are probably qualified to tell you what to do, but assuming it heals well, in the future look at Vivobarefoot and Feelmax.

Actually zero drop, minimal shoes.

Styling isn't as good as Nike, but what are you going to do?

I'm excited about the new Free Hyperfeel - it seems like it might finally fit the bill for a real minimal shoe with kickass Flywire.

They're Vivo's best-looking shoe, the Breatho Trail. I've got a pair on the way; I've been just running barefoot or in a normal barefoot sneaker, but I'm running on rougher terrain now. Ripped the skin off my small toe the other day while running totally barefoot, which is a first.

Some of their shoes are mediocre and uninspired in the extreme, stuff people wear because they don't have anything else (the dress shoe line, although now there's an actual decent barefoot Oxford shoe, the Primal Professional), some of it is absolutely stupid (the Ultra, for instance), and some of it can be worked into a techwear vibe, yeah.

But they're not Flyknits, dammit. These things better stand up as minimal shoes.

Those hyperfeels are nice, are there any monochomre colourways?

>> No.6658888

>>6658863
That seems to be the closest available in what they've press released now.

Also, doing some Googling just now, they've got a 4mm drop, which fuck, but it looks like it might all be in that heel padding an X-Acto knife might be able to take care of.

Which, now your post has me wondering if painting over the sole might be viable. Probably.

Nike Free 4.0 v2

>> No.6658988

They are. Free Flyknits are like a 5.0 and have a higher upper, and are available now. The Free Hyperfeels are made with Flywire even though they're not branded as Flyknits, have a thinner sole and less drop than anything Nike's made, and come out later this year.
