they're not actually /fa/ as much as vain about their appearance (which is why majority of them get plastic surgery and always have makeup [both genders]). as for their clothes they just have an ever faster, more accelerated version of fast fashion, and they copy all trends down to a t + wear them all at the same time, which is why it looks so outlandish and "nxtlvl"

Korea is a booming country in terms of culture atm
their popstars, actors and entertainers are becoming bigger and bigger idols on a global stage, this, coupled with the countries economic growth makes them spend lots on stuff that makes them appear trendy.

And while not all, a lot of south Koreans won't ever get, what it is about the trend that is making it popular, they just try to appear ahead of the curve and in the loop

shockingly codified trend following, too. I read an article online a while back about some south korean HS student who was listing which North Face jacket you're allowed to wear according to your social status.
If you come to school with a nicer North Face than you're allowed to have, the other kids just beat you up and steal it from you. Allegedly, this whole cycle runs smooth as clockwork, completely unpunished and unchallenged. Passive social Darwinism maybe?

Korean culture puts an extreme emphasis on outward appearance, which is why plastic surgery is so huge there. As for the clothes, people care more for this reason but since so many people care, fast fashion retailers have been able to take massive advantage of this and produce good "looking", cheap clothes which everyone naturally buys. There is extremely little high fashion in Korea compared to the population interested in "fashion".

And most of them dress exactly the same, you just see them as "well dressed" because that's the standard in korea but in reality it's nothing special, it's just that people wherever you live dress bad, not that the koreans dress particularly "well"

Also gothninja only exists in korea as a way to separate oneself from the pleb fast fashion masses, but these people have extremely little understanding of the motives and ideas behind many of these designers.

Albeit, a lot of south koreans are fairly fashionable, I would not conclude that they are /fa/, but really they're just good at trend hopping.

bc of the large demand the market is huge, there can be blocks with multiple plastic surgeons on it, all different companies.

different price ranges come about bc everyone wants the business. There are also a large number of cheap, poor/ lesser quality clinics that are all over the place in the aims of meeting demands.

One of the most common procedures is double eyelid surgery, its so common that young students get it done as birthday gifts, or as a present for their middle school/ high school graduation.

See what I'm getting at? It's a shame really, this is why being a designer is an extremely hard job in korea because like 0.001% of the population actually buy into fashion or actually appreciate fashion beyond just "clothes to make me look trendy".

That's why people usually save up. You should try, too.
Get the most basic stuff from H&M/ZARA, you won't look fancy for a few months, but buying a great item to pump up a wardrobe once in a while is a fucking great feeling.
Get black/white tees and black skinny jeans from HM, and maybe one clean outerwear piece from ZARA if you have no money, then save up. Also, get a haircut, lose weight and give thrift shops a try

Do you know there are several different cotton qualities ? Just like there are many different types of leathers, etc.
There are so many different cuts, colors, alterations and possibilites you can have in a tee shirt.
Another element in pricing is the manufacturing costs, the location of the factory, the salary of the makers.
A blank tshirt from a good brand/designer like Acne or Kent Wang will not only look better, but will also last longer, have a much better fit/cut/design, and a better build quality.

If you don't know this, then you probably haven't got your hands on a superior quality tee yet, let alone worn one.
